I wanted to give a few sneak peaks to v2.0. Some of the cool features are the list of feeds on the side (which I could probably allow people to put in a separate window in options), the ability to open a archive file (MP3 only), open a stream URL by typing the url, or opening a Radio Reference feed. I also will add a shortcuts area to save these locations (and periodically check the validity of them). I have also cleaned up the task bar by making all the feeds into one system tray icon. From that system icon, you can close feeds and start recording!

The v1.0 has been released! The old download links do not work, so download Scanner Force v1.0 at Scanner Force: Downloads.
Today is April 9th, and I don't feel that v1 itself is enough to pay $5 and then turn around and pay for a different licensing fee for v2. What I plan on doing now is having people with their own license key (easier for tracking). I currently have the account system working, but no way for people to register.
For the moment being, continue using the public beta key. Once the accounting system is up, return to the download page at Scanner Force: Downloads and it will redirect you to login. Once you register and return to the download page, it will allow you to generate a trial key. This trial key will be valid until v2.0 is released, then will be invalid. I will soon also make it available to upgrade your account to the "Beta Tester" group, which will change your name to a dark green color and show a special download section for Beta Testers.
I hope to have the public registration page online soon, but I will make a post here when it is (and the public key will no longer work). I don't plan on making any more v1 releases, so any bugs reported will go into v2. Once I start beta testing for v2, I will make a post here with the location of the new RR forum thread link.

What are the checksum's for?
Checksums are used to verify that the file has been downloaded fully and not modified if you got it from another source (not recommended obviously). It is used by a lot of software companies, but not all. I will be posting a tool to test it with soon.

Yes, the technical version is v1.0.10 (Version 1.0 Build 10), but public reference is v1.0. I tend to use both a lot. The file version the setup and Windows OS will see is v1.0.10, so I tend to list both. Also, starting this version Scanner Force will alert of any new updates. If a update isn't required, it will issue a soft reminder and won't force you to upgrade, if an upgrade is needed due to a change in the way requests are sent and received from server, it will issue a hard reminder saying it won't allow you to continue until you upgrade. This will be based around build versions.
I have found this price to be too high, so the price for RR will be $4

Well guys i like it alot BUT it still TIMES OUT when you listen to different countys on it and about 6 to 9 hours of strait listening it will time out and throw about 100 ERROR'S on the screen then you have to reset it again.

What errors are you getting? Some of the errors I've found have been caused by the stream itself.
The Scanner Force public beta key has expired! Please go to https://www.scannerforce.com/cp/register to create an account. After you have successfully activated your account, go into the My Account section and request a trial key! Thanks for all your guy's help! The trial keys will expire when v2.0 has been released. After then, you will receive an email stating this and how to buy a license.

I did that & got my key.
However SF will not take it.
I get the following error:
Unknown error based on response from server! Please try again later.
It will also not take my activation code.

Try this... if you are on Vista, go to your home folder (click Start then on your name), go into AppData (this is a hidden folder so you either need to enable hidden folders or type it into the path manually), start with local and go through all 3 folders (Local, Locallow, and Roaming) and delete the folder Top_Blue. Try again and hopefully everything should work. Taking a look at the error message, I worded that error based on the fact I didn't want people to know that meant there was a problem from my server to Radio Reference. I'll check for any errors and see.

I have the new reg key as listed in MY Account, but I was not able to input my authorization code yesterday that I got in the e-mail. It did not take.
Could this be the problem?

The auth code was entered automatically (and should have stated that your account was authorized successfully). You only needed the auth code if you tried to login without previously authorizing. I have tested your code and it works perfectly for me, which is why this is interesting. I may have to push a new version out that allows special "debug" options for info returned from server. Try this for me, uninstall Scanner Force, re-delete the Top_Blue folders, then go to Scanner Force: Downloads and try reinstalling it. I will look at the code and see all the possible points that error would be displayed and look at the data being returned.
After you reinstall Scanner Force and you receive the same problem, did it even prompt for key? I'm trying to figure out how far and where you were at when it came up. Seems like I need a better debug system for v2 (maybe it will auto send to the Scanner Force server with location of error details linked to your account).

That was my next step as well.

It did ask for the new key & took it on two computers.
Awesome! I looked at the error messages in my source code and the error you gave me was found 2 times. One when you enter the key for the first time and second when you change your key. No idea why.
Right now I'm not enforcing a per computer key license as this will hopefully change with v2. v2 will have you login and the key will be transparent. I will also have to get a system in place to track computers and allow you to de-authorize one and allow another.

I also wanted to add that any feed that is brought to our attention to be airing a national or "huge" emergency (huge shall be defined later on) will be free during the incident. I will not categorize shootings or other similar feeds here. An example would be when we had the Hati feed online or any other relief effort. This will be designed to get people interested and serves no use to Ultimate users.
