Scanner problems?

Recently, my Pro95 has been sounding the control channel while I am just listening to it. It did it on B.A. and Bixby Edacs and also on Tulsa and Owasso Mot. Is there any reason this might be happening?

NO, AND YES 4 TIMES. THIS ONLY HAPPENED IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS AND IT ONLY HAPPENS EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE. BEFORE THAT, CLOSE TO A YEAR OF SCANNING, NO PROBLEMS.

Have you recently changed anything, like turned on or changed priority freqs, etc?

Reason I ask is when I first got mine, it did that with BA, but when I turned off weather priority it went away.

I DO NOT HAVE MY PRIORITY CHANNEL ON IN ANY OF MY P95 FILES. JUST DO NOT USE IT. JUST LOADED A FILE WITH OWASSO AND IT IS WORKING JUST FINE. I JUST THOUGHT THERE MIGHT BE SOME TESTING OR SOMETHING THAT IS MESSING UP THE SIGNALS THAT I RECEIVE.

It's not the systems being tested, because I haven't heard it.

It's mostly something that you changed. Since you don't run Pri, it isn't that, but it is "something".

I always keep an old version (several, actually) of my .p95 file, and go back to the last one when a reprogram "goes wrong". Several times (with this scanner and my -92, it's taken two or three tries to get something in there correctly (especially with new trunked systems - early on, the data is often incomplete).

But you have to understand that in the internet world CAPS MEANS YOU ARE YELLING. You really don't want to yell at the very people you are asking for help. It's good advise, not a flame.

I thought I remembered reading here (somewhere) that the Pro-95's will sometimes lock on the control channel for no apparent reason, and that the only solution was to cut the radio off/ on. The only trunked system that I regularly monitor is a type II system, and my 95 locks on it, occasionally.

Am I out in left field, or is this actually true?

Well, the way I remember it was after I turned it off then back on, it was ok. Thanks tglendye.

I hope I am not too late on this discussion, but my '95 does this as well. It seems to do it when I open another bank while in scan mode. I read on another users group that this is a common thing and instead of turning the unit "Off" and then back "On", Hit the Manual key, then the Trunk key, then "Manual" again, and hit the "scan" key. Works every time. A little bit of a hassle, but it beats turning the Volume Knob. Hope this works.

I tried to figure out the problem and with all the info I received, I went over everything until I found it. I recently added some security frequencies and I do not know if it is my location or something else, but when I would switch to that bank some of the freq's would show up with no audio. When I switched to a Mot or Edacs after that happened, I would here the control channel and I just got ID#'s instead of text that I stored. It even changed ID's very fast back and forth. Thanks
