Hey is there any way that we can allow the Streamers here on RR free subscriptions to the scanner stream apps that are out there.

Went to listen to my stream on BerryScanner tonight on the way home and it told me that my subscription had ended to it. Now I find out that we have to pay for this app.

I thought the BerryScanner app was a free one as apposed to the IPhone App that everyone got into a hoopla about.

Why not allow the streamers free access to there own streams?

How else can I listen to my own stream on my mobile phone.

Is it just the fact that your 14 day trial of BerryScanner has run out and now you don't want to pay $2.99 to continue using it or am I missing something here?

Never did know that there was a charge for the program since it came out. Thought it was a free app. Again, is there any way that we can listen to our own feeds without the use of the app?

The app is a nice little app to have on the BB, and I will more than likely eventually buy it, But is there any other way that we can listen to our own feeds with out the app?

Again, straight from the beginning I did not know that eventually it would become a pay app. Like I said, there was enough hoopla over a pay app for the iPhone, I thought they just figured it'd be nice to create a free one to go up against it.

Yes there is a way to use your BB to listen without spending $2.99. Just point your BB browser to RR.com click on mobile and go to your state -> county select your feed.
I for one recommend that you just spend the $2.99. Its a great app, Gordon does all work and you get free updates for life and you can move your registation for free if you get a new BB. I really should get some compensation from Gordon since I've recommended so many people to him. In fact 70% of my BB listeners come from BBscanner. The rest are either iPhone or windows mobile users. Most of my listeners have told me that bbscanner is just easier and fast to connect.
Just my 2 cents.

Actually, depending on what BB device and OS you have that may not work. It doesn't work with O.S. 4.5 and a BB Curve.

I agree though that $2.99 is nothing considered to what the software does. It is well worth three bucks.

But you get better reception!
Had a 3 year old BB 7100i and finally convinced work that I was in need of a phone that wasn't going to give me back problems.
Getting the company to pony up for phone and bills helps me to afford a radio.

Actually to be fair to Gordon, if you go to his forums (http://forums.bbscanner.com/) page he has never hidden the fact that this app would eventually be a paid app. It was free for awhile while it was in the beta testing stage.

The app is a nice little app to have on the BB, and I will more than likely eventually buy it, But is there any other way that we can listen to our own feeds with out the app?

Yep... you can sit down and design your own app to listen.... but I think paying less than 3 bucks to someone who has already done that is worth it.

Again, straight from the beginning I did not know that eventually it would become a pay app. Like I said, there was enough hoopla over a pay app for the iPhone, I thought they just figured it'd be nice to create a free one to go up against it.

I guess I still don't understand what all the hoopla is about. Why should someone do a bunch of work (and I mean a bunch of work... he is coming out with new ideas and fixes just about every day, and has been for a few months now) for free?

So you provide a live stream.... thank you. We appreciate that. So do I. I still don't see why we should get the app for free. I received a premium subscription to RR for doing so. Thats the deal. I have been justly compensated for my stream. I knew that coming into it. Nothing more, nothing less. If I want to listen to it for free, I have the means to do so by computer. Want to hear it on your Berry, gotta buy an app.

I can watch TV for free... OTA with an antenna. Want to watch it better? Gotta buy cable.

Sorry for the rant, people. Just tired of hearing about something so trivial.

Really $2.99? Just pay it. $2.99 isn't even one day's lunch. Don't be cheap, I think the developer well earned his $3 don't you think?
