Depends of what you are wanting to listen to. If it's conventional AM Aircraft or FM signals, then yes it will. If your area uses trunking and/or digital, then no, it won't work for you.
no it can't follow trunking.
but just like my pro2001 it can still get a few things.
mine has the local forestry 159.24 , the space station 145.8 145.825 and some other local ham stuff.
It really depends on your area...it would still be useable in my area but would not pick up Digital, Trunking, P25, DMR or ndxn systems to name a few and no scanner available can decipher encrypted transmissions.
