We had the working prototype as well as a dummy version of the final case design on display at the booth. We hope to have the production units available by the end of the year.

With the current conditions regarding trade and production facilities we cannot provide a better release date or price yet.

The grey unit to the right is the probable final case design. The unit will work with the knobs on top or at the bottom and will have a forward facing speaker.

Hands on how? Just to test at the booth or were people allowed to buy/borrow prototypes?
We had the working prototype as well as a dummy of the finished case design at the booth for people to hold, caress and play with. Many did!

I brought the prototype home with me, if you make it down this way let me know and I will let you check it out.

I would purchase one of these. While I would use it with a BCD996T, it would be nice to also use it with a BC125AT as well if later supported.

They did, indeed. I don't know if Uniden ever considered that for the SDS200 and I doubt we ever will know. It would have been simple to do that during the design phase. Ham radio manufacturers realized the need 20 years ago for their mobile rigs.

Oh well, we don't have a Way Back Machine, so we can't go back in time.

Though I much prefer the Uniden models, Whistler really hit the nail on the head with that removable faceplate design.
