Howdy,

A few days ago, I forked the SDRTrunk repo and I was able to get it working with the newly released developer API that's part of the nRSP-ST/SDRConnect software. I've been using it for a few days, and with a few caveats, it's been working pretty well with the networked nRSP-ST. I just wanted to see if it might be useful to anyone else: GitHub - W2NJL/sdrtrunk: A cross-platform java application for decoding, monitoring, recording and streaming trunked mobile and related radio protocols using Software Defined Radios (SDR). Website:

The caveats are:
  1. You MUST have SDRConnect running and using Full IQ mode. That's the only way that IQ data gets streamed through its API. That can be a pain if you're running either the client or the nRSP-ST over WiFi. A hardware limitation right now.
  2. Update your SDRConnect to 1.06 and also update your nRSP to the latest firmware.
  3. I forked the latest nightly version of SDRTrunk for this. Maybe that wasn't a great idea! But it's what I had been primarily using with my Airspy R2.
If I had a slightly better 700 MHz antenna, I'd honestly say it's the only barrier to reinvigorating the scanning hobby for me. Overall, SDRTrunk does a much better job decoding the NJICS system from where I am, than the SDS-100 does.
