SDRtrunk DMR simplex not decoding

My SDRtrunk software and SDRplay RSPdx combo work great.

I have no problem with P25 systems in my area.

I set up a system using the tx freq of my Pi-Star DMR hotspot. If I activate World Wide TG 91 with my radio, the hotspot tx is picked up by the SDRtrunk and it decodes the DMR audio excellently.

Here is my problem. If I put my handheld radios on a ham freq set up for DMR simplex, my two handheld radios talk to each other OK. However, if I set up the SDRtrunk it sees the signal and displays it on the spectrum, but it does not decode the audio. I have tried decoding based on TG which in this case is 99 which is used for simplex DMR. I have also tried it set for the handheld radio's ID.

Any ideas why it will not decode the simplex DMR from the radio, even though it will decode the hotspot?

Thanks

Rik,
Depending on how close your handheld is to your antenna, your signal may be too strong, causing the bad decode.

If too much gain is not the issue, can you please make a baseband recording (using sdrtrunk) and one or two transmissions and send it to me and I'll take a look?

I have noticed exactly that same problem with DMR and other software--too strong, no decode.

I have also been working with a p[program named DSDPlus. I do have it decoding the DMR simplex from my handheld radio. I made a baseband recording. It is about 1.5 GB! I will PM you a message with a link to it in my Dropbox.
