My SDS 100 is really not working well. When scanning the channels never pick up and if they do the transmission is already in the middle. Sometimes the audio will just cut out completely mid-transmission. The conventional channels seem to be working a little better but it's still not consistent. I have a BC 125AT that's picking up transmissions just fine. I'm scanning a custom favorites list only.

Squelch setting? Priority scanning? Scanning "too much" as compared to the 125? The SDS 100 better in different locations (interference)?

If you have a strong signal on the display and it cuts out mid transmission, and your squelch isn't turn up too high, then it's probably interference that de-sense the receiver and it's not much you can do about it. The SDS100 receiver chip can't handle all tricky situations. Try using IFX to the frequencies that have problems. If you have configured a signalstrenght to show on the display and the signal are up at -60dBm or higher (less negative) you can also try to enable attenuator to the problematic frequencies.

so you know, I would recommend putting squelch at 2 to test.

Okay so it's working better for me now. Still not great but better. What's the best setting for digital waiting time?

Digital waiting does nothing for you. The only thing it does are to mute audio as soon as the squelch opens and then unmute after the dealy time. That's only so you don't have to hear the raw digitial audio before scanner have analysed it and begins to decode it, which normally takes a few hundred milliseconds.
