When ebay has a coupon for its customer it pays the difference to the seller of 649 which is map for uniden. So explain how uniden is not getting there MAP??

EXACTLY my point. What do they care who pays for it, they get their money.

Not correct. Apparently you did not read or understand post #274. Search for item 192609562100 on eBay and use coupon code PREGAME15 and pay $552 shipped. 15% coupon code expires at 10pm Pacific time today, then the price reverts to $650. Free FedEx shipping and sales tax in NY only.

Scanner shipped same day I purchased. Arrived with new larger battery and battery cover
Good deal for $552 shipped.

I don't understand the point of Uniden using a MAP. What is the reward for doing this as opposed to letting the free market reign? Scanning is a small, niche business with no mass consumer appeal (especially at this high price point). If I'm a scanner manufacturer I want to get these things into as many hands as possible wherever I can. Why complicate the matter by restricting who can sell the thing and at what price point.

You said it it is a niche business. But not as small as one would think. It is what it is that is the business model they are going with as far as we know and so be it. No more no less.

We already know "it is what it is". Your response provided no insight into the advantages of this business model, which is what I had asked.

No, post #19 doesn't answer it. If you can support your scanner yourself, perhaps by seeking help in RR, then the seller don't need to spend hours with a buyer trying to explain things to him and that cost can be deducted from the price. It's a buyers choise, either pay more to get the support from a seller, who never can compete with the combined knowledge in RR, or you don't need it and get a lower price from a seller who has no support.

It's always been like that, buy from local supplier to get help and to easily return products you are not happy with, or buy the same product cheap from china without getting any kind of support.

I ordered mine on Friday from Scannermaster, $649 shipped. I got an email confirmation about an hour after the purchase that it had shipped with a delivery of this Wednesday. Can’t wait.

I don't believe I'd use the 436 as a trade-in. I'd rather keep it as either a backup or a secondary scanner.

Brand-New SDS100 $584.99

Just a quick heads up that you can purchase a brand-new Uniden SDS100 right now on eBay for $584.99 but only until 8:00 AM EDT today (Friday 10-26-2018).

There are multiple sellers on eBay right now selling the SDS100 brand-new for the regular price of $649.99. Pick a seller of your choice and use eBay coupon PICKUPTEN and you will get 10% off making your final purchase price $584.99. The coupon expires at 8:00 AM EDT on 10-26-2018.

You can use the 10% off coupon for multiple items purchased at the same time but the maximum total discount is $100. If you would like the Uniden nylon carrying case for the SDS100 ($28.95 minus $2.89 with coupon) and/or the Uniden GPS cable for the SDS100 ($19.95 minus $1.99 with coupon), they are also both available on eBay. Do an eBay search for "SDS100" and all of the different items will come up in your search results.

Thanks trp for the continued updates, i purchased another, and family bought some. I also forwarded to friends and coworkers who were looking now and early for the holidays. I hope other people were able to get the sale too.
