I've recently bought an SDS 200. It seems the scanner will only import .hpe files and sentinel will only export .csv files. I've looked around here and on youtube and can't find a solution. I'd much appreciate any advice from forum members as to how to solve this problem.
Thanks

I forgot to mention that the software is version 3.0, revision 0.1 and I have just updated the firmware and db.

Sentinel can import and export hpe files as well as append data in the db to favorites lists.

If your looking to import ham in your area, first read the scanner into Sentinel, then navigate to appropriate state/county, right click on dept of interest, and choose Append to Favorites List.

I've had no problems importing the local ham gangs from Sentinel into my 200, but chose to delete them.

Thanks for your suggestions. I don't think I made myself clear in my first post. I want to create a favorites list of ham radio repeater and simplex favorites outside of Sentinel as RR has very few in it's database. I then want to import them to Sentinel. Unfortunately, I don't know how to create a *.hpe file outside of Sentinel (it will only accept *.hpe files). I can only create *.csv files. So I have no way of importing externally(to Sentinel) created favorites lists. I'm looking at ProScan now. It looks promising, but I'd like to be able to take care of everything with Sentinel and a spreadsheet for sorting etc.

While you can't "import" a *.CSV file directly into Sentinel, if you have your spacing correct, you should be able to paste a column into a manually crated system in the Favorites list editor.

While spreadsheet data can easily be manipulated and pasted into Sentinel, with @ProScan get clipboard feature, I created this in a matter of seconds,

Just highlight and copy content of interest,

Then select Clipboard and arrange column values to your liking.

Steve, This is exactly what I was looking for. I was almost there, but your example cleared it all up. Proscan it is, but it's also good to know that a similar, but apparently more tedious, way is possible with Sentinel.
Thanks!

Dave, My aplogies. I'm new to this format and see that I mistakenly referred to Steve as the author of the example that you provided. Thanks for the example in Proscan. Thank you!

It's very simple to import via cut and paste from a spreadsheet.
First create your list. Then add one entry manually.
Set your spreadsheet columns to match Sentinel and then just C&P.

I appreciate the advice from all who responded to my initial request. I have it all up and running now and have learned a lot in general about the SDS 200. It's a new language for me but necessary given the capabilties this machine offers.
Thanks again!
