I'll start by saying I don't own one of these, I'm trying one out for a awhile, so I may be missing something obvious.

Anyway, with the backlight set to "Open squelch" it remains on after a transmission on trunking (P25). On conventional it "appears" to be functioning as expected.

Current FW Main 1.09.01 Sub 1.02.01

What am I doing wrong?

I can't duplicate the issue. Backlight set to open squelch working correctly on both conventional and p25 transmissions.

Careful Mule1075 Kevin is coming to the darkside.

And this means what? You have no idea what radios I may or may not own and this adds absolutely nothing to this thread. I just don't feel the need to have a signature that lists all 37 or whatever radios I own.

Well, if it's going to happen to someone it will happen to me.
I don't know if it will help. But my settings are squelch set to open squelch and the keypress set to infinite, set key backlight set to disable and the external power setting to off. I shut the light off on the keypad manually after setting it up and all works well.

Let me mimic that, standby...

No joy.

What's interesting is if I remove the antenna. once it loses the control channel the light will go out. It's like it treats the CC as "open squelch".

I am not seeing that. I just held on the p25 system and the backlight comes on with a transmission and goes off when it ends.

Nothing in the FL would cause this, would it? My 436 using the same programming works fine (and yes, target model is set to SDS100).

I guess I'll try the full database and see what happens.

I am guessing no I am scanning a favorites list. But anything is possible.

This sounds like something is screwed up in your favorites file... as in the file being corrupted.

Recently had a mysterious situation where a system would not receive any talkgroups on an sds100 even though it received the right control channel frequency and everything looked fine. Did it with several radios.

An old 325 radio was receiving it fine.

Finally deleted that system from the favorites list and pulled it back into the list from the database again. Then it worked fine. No differences were apparent between the file before and after, but it made all the difference. The favorites list file was whacked somehow.

Could be something screwed up in Sentinel. Good luck and let's us know if you figure it out.

What is your system hold time set to? I set mine to 255 to avoid the "housekeeping", if I change it to 0 it works as expected. I'm experimenting with other hold times now, but it looks like anything over 2 seconds causes it to latch on.
