i loaded the newest beta and then went back to the latest firmware today without issues. To each their own...
Yeah but that was the beta. Did that include a sub firmware too? Not every firmware upgrade is the same.

I called Uniden Customer Service for the 2nd time today. I got the impression the firmware fix is not the priority to them as it is to us. We need many people to call and express displeasure. 1-800-297-1023.

You seem surprised by this. To be honest, many of us are not. This is to be expected. I mean you do realize you are not really talking to the correct people at Uniden, right? Those people just answer the phones and then search for a solution to give you in hopes you won't call again. A while back they were telling people that DMR, NXDN and Provoice upgrades were not sold by Uniden and the only way was thru 3rd party.

If you really want to voice your concerns, take a trip to CES this year and speak to the Uniden employees at booth 3061.

Maybe one and done Kip Sullivan will be there. You know, the new CEO that said all this and never logged in again.

The last thing we want to do is exit the Scanner Category. Paul Opitz was a huge loss and irreplaceable. I've been back six weeks but know how important in my 15 years at Uniden this category is. I will be going to Japan with two new product managers we hired away from Cobra to meet with Engineering Japan on development of new scanners. Be patient and we did not buy the company to do anyhting but capitiaze on categories we ignored far too long.

Don't be shy, this scanner costs too much for customers to be treated this way! Bob K3RSJ
"We"? I'm very happy with the new firmware on the 200. If you're not happy with it, just go back to 1.21.00.

They actually have a CES booth? It's been years since the last one. Bet it's radar detectors and marine.

Bob if you take a look at the wiki forum you will see that the SDS FAQ has been updated with many thread links, including one for how to back out the firmware AND a beta Uniden released for Type 2 scanning (which by all accounts has not been all that successful).

I even tagged a certain individual in the announcement; I'm certain he knows about the issues (else why would the beta for the Type 2 scanning been released?). All the calling is likely go eventually get a 'it's that kook again' and get the call dropped..

If you're unhappy, as suggested above, back the fixes out and revert. You're not the only one who is unhappy, after all. I'd suggest taking a chill pill, or put another way....

Would you like some cheese with that w(h)ine?

'nuff said...Mike
