SDS100/SDS200: Sds100 question decoding P25 Phase II

Hi. How well does the sds100 decode p25 phase ii digital freqs? I want to use it for a police channel thats vhf 154.875 nac309. It's simulcast as well. Just wanna make sure that im not gonna waste my time programming it and it doesnt work. Im 12 miles away from the nearest tower. Although it works on my unication g3 pager and motorola xts2500 radio. TIA

The SDS100 is a great scanner for trunking systems like the P25 Phase II simulcast. You won't be disappointed.

I only use my SDS100 for simulcast systems. It's a sub par performer on VHF & UHF and prone to overload in high RF environments. Might be fine for simulcast VHF conventional but not all environments are created equal

Conventional is only phase 1 and it can't be phase 2.

You sure that isn't a system just using P25 Digital Voice...

I updated the database. It's vhf phase ii p25. I also checked with the radio guy in that area and he said that it's p25 phase ii digital.

Sure can - we are in the process in the province of Ontario of switching from an antiquated Smartzone system over to P25 Phase 2, with a mix of VHF and a handful of 700Mhz sites (so far) Public Safety Radio Network (PSRN) Trunking System, Multiple Locations, Ontario

No. Just a regular vhf freq. No tgids.

ok yeah thats similar to what it says on the rr database on that dept's list. am i too far from the repeater tower? bad antenna? reception issue? it picks up on my motorola xts2500 just fine. and my 996p2 scanner just fine. it keeps cutting in and out.
