Looking for how to save my scanner settings before updating database. So far when I update the database I have
to go back into the menus and reprogram all my scan settings. Thank

Read from the scanner to Sentinel first, then update the database, and then write to the scanner. Only have to do that once, unless you make changes on the scanner without saving them to Sentinel in-between updates.

I use 2 different profiles, one to program the scanner and one to update the database. Take the profile you use to program the scanner and do a Save As and name it Update Database. On that profile, turn off Download and Monitor for all of the favorites lists. Using that profile, you will not change any of the settings or write anything to the scanner except the database.

Doesn't still change everything that is in the profile, like locked out frequencies, what service types you have selected, what favorite lists you have enabled, if you have priority set and closecall and wx. Everything except favorite lists will be overwritten.

As Ubbe states above, that will still overwrite any custom settings the OP has made to his scanner through the scanner's menu system, unless he reads from the scanner to that other profile as well, before writing from that profile to the scanner.
