I have programmed in the new system in my area. My site is set up with only the one active data channel. When I hold on this system the SDS100 sees the data channel and pickups traffic fine but I notice it keeps searching for something. The s meter and the site info rapidly flash on and off instead of being constant. I'm im ID search mode and I verified Close Call is off. Any ideas?
Thanks

Any conventional frequencies on "Priority" or WX Alert on?

Does it say ID Scan or ID Search. If it says ID Search, it will receive any talkgroup on the system. If it says ID Scan, it will receive only the talkgroups you have programmed. When you say active data channel, do you mean control channel? You should have the control channel and alternate frequencies entered into the site. Do you see just the 1 site or do you see several sites? Is it the Massachusetts State Police system you are scanning and what site or sites are you using. There are 3 sites in Barnstable Co. The 2 Outer Cape sites require a custom Motorola 800 MHz rebanded band plan. The Upper and Mid Cape site can use the standard band plan.

I know that...I don't get why the scanner doesn't lock on the CC. the blinking leads me to believe its looking for something else even though there isn't anything.

It's the housekeeping function. If you do a search for Housekeeping in the forums you'll find several thereads. Here are a couple. The second one has a couple posts by Upman that explain what's going on.

This is a "house keeping" feature where the signal is dropped to allow the processor to work on other tasks.

Housekeeping are disabled while scanning only one site. Check that you have upgraded to the latest firmware.

The house keeping feature are usually done much less often than what your video indicates. The timing interval corresponds more with priority scan of wheather, prio channels or Close Call. Double check the settings for those three things again.
