For some reason, my SDS100 will randomly freeze up. Unit becomes unresponsive to anything. At times, the screen will also glitch and the backlight will start flashing. The only way to recover it is to remove the battery. Even after reinserting the battery, when the unit boots up, it may freeze or glitch out during loading, or after loading. I’ve cleared user data and reprogrammed the scanner. I still get these issues. Has anyone else experienced this?

What month is it?
I concur.....

In an SD card radio, the card is always the first place to troubleshoot.

As you reprogrammed the SD card without it helping it could be that cold solder joint problem. That usually shows up in the debug log and are easy to spot. debug log

While the card replacement is a great suggestion, I have to wonder if this is a different issue. Is it still under warranty?

Here are the debug files.
It's a cold solder joint issue with J401 connector. It sends commands but nothing happens and times out with data error. Probably the data that controls the display will also be corrupted by that bad connector.

There are interference issues in the 155-170MHz band that makes the scanning stop briefly. You could try some filter settings and IFX but you have several frequencies adjacent to 155.0000Mhz which is a birdie frequency so those cannot be helped.

So it's multiple things? Great. As for the J401 connector, I'll just send it in for repair.

Most of the VHF stuff in my area are in the 155-158 range. I'll try some filters. But first, I'll have that J401 connector issue fixed.

Thank you.
