I have not noticed this on mine, being extremely sensitive...

I have noticed as small as it is, it tends to move fairly quick, however. especially if you're not paying attention as your turning it.

Not sure if that's exactly what you're referring to?

The SDS knob encoder problem has been a frequent issue since release. Some units are affected and some units aren't.. I remember on the 536 I had the same problem but not as bad.. You are not alone and there are many units that have this issue. If you send it in for repair it may or may not be repaired properly.

I've made it no secret over the years that this issue along with solder joint issue be included in a repair campaign where the issue would be repaired without cost.

If it’s under a year old, send it in under manufacture warranty. Pretty sure those have dielectric grease inside. Degreaser would more or less cut its lifespan down.

So I resolved this problem. The radio is water resistant so trying to clean or lubricate the rotary knob, isn't really going to work.

So what I did was, I borrowed a insulin syringe, 0.5 CC and 31 gauge needle from my cousin who's a diabetic.

I Drew up from a bottle cap, a good amount wd40. The needle actually fit in the crevices around the knob and I injected a lot. At least 1 cc. Immediate Improvement but I gave it some time and in two days the problem was solved with some minor issues, I waited another week, I redid the process and I have never had another issue with the rotary knob problem, the oil cured.
