In Search or Tune mode, I don't seem to be able to pick up any analog. What in the world could I be doing wrong? I can see that it does stop on noise and analog voice signals, but it does not "play" the audio for me. I have tried everything I can think of, and I'm sure it's something stupid on my part.

Ex: Tune to 162.525 -- known NWS freq -- I can see the signal, I hear nothing even if I open the squelch all the way.

Ex: Search between limits: I can set limits and then search between them, and it will never stop on analog audio.

I think it will stop on DMR/NXDN CCs, but only long enough to note that there is no voice traffic and then move on. I believe I've heard either P25 or NXDN or DMR voice during a search or Tune <>.

So I've got two issues, the first one somebody might be able to answer.

1. Is there a trick to getting Search/Tune modes to play analog audio ?

2. Search/Tune modes are totally useless for finding anything out about new trunked sites

Unlike my PSR-500 -- which would stop on a MTypeII, EDACS, or P25 control channel and display relevant information about the trunked system, it appears as though the TRX-1 will do none of that. And, if that is the case, it makes the scanner totally useless for searching out new/undocumented trunked systems.

At any rate, does anobody have an idea what I might be doing wrong with Search/Tune?

Under the Search/Tune settings, I have the following checkmarked:

Attenuator - OFF
Delay - ON
P25 - ON
NXDN - ON
DMR - ON
X2 - OFF

Thanks in advance to anyone who has a clue as to what I'm doing wrong.

Mike
