I am aware that this has been asked before but I’m anxiously searching for a replacement volume knob for my Uniden 780XLT. Anyone have one?

You should print some knobs up for the smaller knob used on the old BC780XLT models! People are always looking for that one. I think I've seen eBay users wanting ridiculous prices for a 780XLT volume/power knob. Like $30 dollars. Maybe someone has a sample they could send you if there is still...

The vfo/select control use standard measurements and I substituded a broken knob with a volume rubber knob from a Motorola portable. I don't dare to pull the 780 volume off to see what size it is, they are so brittle after 15-20 years, but could be something that can be replaced by a Motorola channel knob, that are smaller in size. The rubber knob feels and works much better than the original.

Please post part numbers for this so others can order some if needed from a Motorola Dealer.

The Motorola volume knob are for a GP328 HT750 and a lot of other portables. It fits like it was made for the scanner. It's $3 free shipping for a set of channel+volume knob. If you search for "motorola volume knob" on Ebay you will find a lot of different sized knobs but are difficult to know which will fit on a 780 scanner.

I can't remove my 780 volume knob and test the different Motorola knobs I have, it's as if it where glued in place. Maybe that's why they crack, the glue has made a chemical reaction with the plastic?

I could not find a Motorola knob to fit the volume knob on the 780. I tried everything from an MT1000, HT1000, Visar, Astro Saber, etc.
Nothing fit.
