That's definitely something new in this price range.
Incorrect. The USB-C cable shipped with the radio also serves as the programming cable. The programming software can be downloaded from the AnySecu downloads web site. Be aware that the BT programming software is hirt and miss and very tedious to use. I would never try to program 900+ channeles using this interface nor would I expect anyone else too. There is no programming cable. It's done via Bluetooth through an iPhone or Android app. See my above post.
I am sure about the USB cable as I have used it to program my radio. Trick is to have the software up and running before you turn the radio on so that the software can detect and connect to the radio. As far as scanning goes, I have pretty much decided to forgo the effort. Had a slight glimmer of hope with your recommendations but as before nothing seems to work even with your recommendations. Other than that all is good and I thank you for your response and recommendations.Wow. You are sure about the USB-C cable in the box, because I thought it was for charging the battery. I've used the iPhone software and it works. As far as channel scan is concerned, be sure the scan add is on for each programmed channel. Also be sure squelch mode under radio set is set to QT/DQT. My GT-12 has to be powered up on zone one, otherwise you will get the double beep and no scan either on long # press or side programmed button.
Does the radio have good rx audio fidelity? Any long horrid squelch tail like other ccr's?My radio has the following info:
Soft:Ver1.3.2C
Hard:Ver1.00
To get the side buttons programmed for scan from the radio's menu, you have to select the option above it in the menu. To select scan, you have to pick VOX from the menu. It is correct using the iPhone software but not on the radio, which makes me think my software/firmware is not fully compatible.
Lack of reverse burst plus the long 1 sec. crash on csq. like the Radioddity GS-5B (made by Senhaix) which I don't use because of that, that's why the question but programming sounds like a major issue anyway, plus a God awful wait for shipping, so I'm waiting I guess. It works good on receive for a radio in that price range. It does have the crash, but there is an adjustable RPT-STE timer that helps. Are you talking about the lack of reverse burst using PL? This radio uses the new chip as found in the newer Baofeng UV-21 and the UV-17. It has the 900 channel memory and Bluetooth programming capability. It is more complicated to program than the UV-5 radios. K7HAD is not the first user to have problems getting the radio programmed. Another guy sent his back after 4 days.
Thanks, just figured I'd ask.I'm good with keeping it for now. It's my "take it with me handheld" over my Anytone 878 due to the easy programming on the fly. I bought a spare battery pack too. I just have to remember to turn it off on zone 1 or else it won't channel scan.
