• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I ordered one September 8th, waiting for it to arrive. The last tracking I had showed it passing through customs at LAX, maybe another week hopefully.

Not sure just looking at the pictures, that sounds right. Whatever it is I will be using a different antenna.

So I have had one of these GT-12's for about two weeks now. First and foremost...do not expect any support from the vendor or SenHaix for this radio. I couldn't get them to resolve my issue even after creating a video showing the issue I was having. Secoundly there is PC programing software available for this radio on the Anysecu downloads page and the USB C cable the radio ships with also serves as the programing cable. My biggest complaint with this radio is that as a Analog Dual Band radio it is featureless. You can't even scan a programed bank of frequencies even though it is advertised as being a scan capable radio. All things said and done, for the price I paid fro this radio I could have purchased 3 of the newer Baofeng radios that are packed with features. This radio has really been a disappointment.

There is no programming cable. It's done via Bluetooth through an iPhone or Android app. See my above post.
Incorrect. The USB-C cable shipped with the radio also serves as the programming cable. The programming software can be downloaded from the AnySecu downloads web site. Be aware that the BT programming software is hirt and miss and very tedious to use. I would never try to program 900+ channeles using this interface nor would I expect anyone else too.

Wow. You are sure about the USB-C cable in the box, because I thought it was for charging the battery. I've used the iPhone software and it works. As far as channel scan is concerned, be sure the scan add is on for each programmed channel. Also be sure squelch mode under radio set is set to QT/DQT. My GT-12 has to be powered up on zone one, otherwise you will get the double beep and no scan either on long # press or side programmed button.

I am sure about the USB cable as I have used it to program my radio. Trick is to have the software up and running before you turn the radio on so that the software can detect and connect to the radio. As far as scanning goes, I have pretty much decided to forgo the effort. Had a slight glimmer of hope with your recommendations but as before nothing seems to work even with your recommendations. Other than that all is good and I thank you for your response and recommendations.

My radio has the following info:
Soft:Ver1.3.2C
Hard:Ver1.00

To get the side buttons programmed for scan from the radio's menu, you have to select the option above it in the menu. To select scan, you have to pick VOX from the menu. It is correct using the iPhone software but not on the radio, which makes me think my software/firmware is not fully compatible.

Does the radio have good rx audio fidelity? Any long horrid squelch tail like other ccr's?

It works good on receive for a radio in that price range. It does have the crash, but there is an adjustable RPT-STE timer that helps. Are you talking about the lack of reverse burst using PL? This radio uses the new chip as found in the newer Baofeng UV-21 and the UV-17. It has the 900 channel memory and Bluetooth programming capability. It is more complicated to program than the UV-5 radios. K7HAD is not the first user to have problems getting the radio programmed. Another guy sent his back after 4 days.

Lack of reverse burst plus the long 1 sec. crash on csq. like the Radioddity GS-5B (made by Senhaix) which I don't use because of that, that's why the question but programming sounds like a major issue anyway, plus a God awful wait for shipping, so I'm waiting I guess.

I'm good with keeping it for now. It's my "take it with me handheld" over my Anytone 878 due to the easy programming on the fly. I bought a spare battery pack too. I just have to remember to turn it off on zone 1 or else it won't channel scan.

Thanks, just figured I'd ask.

Mine won't scan Memory Channels most of the time, but will scan in VFO, meaning if I ever get it to work in memory mode, once I power off then on, the radio stops scanning when hitting the side button, quits working. This is even when I double check the side button key to scan. When I read the radio, the selection goes anywhere from Scan, Weather, VOX and when I try to fix it. It usually reverts to Weather. I'm wondering if there will ever be a firmware update and how to apply it to the radio. Looks like the side connector is only for headset/audio.. too bad.
I emailed Senhaix support two weeks ago, but no answer so far.
