If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I am sure about the USB cable as I have used it to program my radio. Trick is to have the software up and running before you turn the radio on so that the software can detect and connect to the radio. As far as scanning goes, I have pretty much decided to forgo the effort. Had a slight glimmer of hope with your recommendations but as before nothing seems to work even with your recommendations. Other than that all is good and I thank you for your response and recommendations.
I cant seem to get the cps to read the com port/cable. Any suggestions?

Mine won't scan Memory Channels most of the time, but will scan in VFO, meaning if I ever get it to work in memory mode, once I power off then on, the radio stops scanning when hitting the side button, quits working. This is even when I double check the side button key to scan. When I read the radio, the selection goes anywhere from Scan, Weather, VOX and when I try to fix it. It usually reverts to Weather. I'm wondering if there will ever be a firmware update and how to apply it to the radio. Looks like the side connector is only for headset/audio.. too bad.
I emailed Senhaix support two weeks ago, but no answer so far.
Hold down the ok button to switch between modes. Scan mode try CO scanning

Trying to catch up with all of the other posts since I've only had this radio for about a week. Tried CO Scan mode, just keep getting Weather when I tap the side button which I programmed for Scan.
I was relieved that the supplied USB-C worked with the CPS, so there may be hope if there ever a firmware update comes out. I just wish I could Scan the Memory Channels instead the VFO. Another goofy thing I programmed the Welcome screen to show Voltage, but that also is not working.

Im scanning memory channels with CO scan right now. It just doesnt with the ch name. Dont use the side buttons. It has to be the # button. Hold it down for 2 seconds in MR mode and itll start scanning what 1 slot you have highlighted. Top or bottom. Turn off dual stand by too.

For my radio to scan channels, it has to be powered up on zone 1. Powered up on any other zone will disable channel scan and give the double beep regardless of using the # button or a programmed side button.

I agree that the upcoming firmware/software upgrade should solve a number of issues.

I've had my GT-12 for about a couple days now, the CPS from Anysecu website worked just fine although hopefully future updates will add more features to both app and radio. I found the android version app that works on my S22 Ultra on the GT-12 Facebook page. I'm still new to radios but this is definitely a nice radio.
The only thing I want from this radio that I can't figure out is how to scan DCS tones. I can scan Ctcss and it even scans lower than 67.0, I found and programmed a channel with a 63.0 ctcss tone but I'm not sure if it's picking up DCS tones. Hopefully an update will add or resolve this but I am still happy with this radio so far

Something i just found out about my GT-12, I noticed that after I program something with the cps I can no longer scan my programmed channels until I read and rewrite the program with the phone app. It does always reprogram my side buttons to other functions but those can easily be reprogrammed from the radio itself afterwards. It can be a bit tedious but it makes things interesting, just another little bug in system I guess, hope this info helps.

Ok thanks. Lets hope the updates help.

I just found out they said 2 tone decoding will come in the next version of the radio. Different motherboard and everything

Crazy stuff. . . I like the radio except for these weird issues. I've sent Senhaix 2 messages which haven't been answered. Hopefully they will come out with a fix for these problems

Paired my Beats headset to the GT-12 and monitored a local net. I had to use the Beats volume control as the radio mounted one has no effect on the BT level.

Well.. I ordered and got the radio today and it looks great, far above your usual CCR. Reads and writes to PC fine.

Bluetooth, like all things bluetooth, is positively useless. I got the app installed on an Android tablet and no amount of fiddling with different devices will connect at all. App doesn't even see the device's bluetooth. So that's out.

Radio does not honor the Motorola reverse burst in ctcss so the squelch tail is horrible and long on commercial channels I listen to. (local PD/FD is still analog) My 30$ Quansheng works wonderfully well in this area with no squelch tail at all=no listener fatigue.

On the fence stiil as to if I'm gonna return it.

Thoughts?

So the upgrade promised is not there or nothing was done. Could you go to the About Machine menu and post the Soft and Hard versions?
Mine is an early one.
Soft:Ver1.3.2C
Hard:Ver1.00

Mine seems to be okay on bluetooth with IPHONE

Problems noted:
Scanning - channel scan does not work on all zones
Squelch - STE menu function- squelch tail elimination has no effect
Programming software - BT apps and computer software troubles
Radio menu- some functions can't be set or don't work

Other comparable radios with the 999 memory chip work much better, so we know it can be done.

Edit to my previous: I'm returning the bloody thing, just packed it up for the exact same issues you mention. Plus I don't get full squelch noise-it's almost as if a weak birdie is trying to get through when I put the radio in monitor. Hasta la vista, baby!!

Mine was 1.3.7 btw. Hard the same as yours.
