The last time I downloaded the latest version of Sentinel, it was a total mess. I was unable to program anything. Therefore, I downloaded the earlier version; however, I am unable to find the hyperlink to put the earlier version on my new laptop with Windows 11 Pro.

Please, help me. I do not want to deal with the problems I encountered attempting to download the latest Sentinel.

Please, keep it simple so that I can understand.

Depending on what older version you are talking about and what firmware you have, one would most likely need the newest version.

I "attempted" to download the hyperlink listed above, but it stated I needed to download Net 2.0. However, I could not find this on the page where I was redirected.

This is in two parts. This is exactly what screwed me up last time. I don't know what in the name of God Net. 2.0 is located.

I don't want the latest download because it screwed up my SDS 100 last time and I don't want that blasted waterfall function.

I have owned this radio for many years, and this is the 1st time I have ever had trouble downloading Sentinel.

You can get it here - it's version 3.5, but has the parts of 2.0 that Sentinel wants to make it work. Install .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8 - .NET Framework
I don't want that blasted waterfall function.
You have to pay for that to unlock it anyways.

ANY version of Sentinel requires Net 2.0, which you don't have to download - it is part of Windows.
Absolutely no reason to not use the latest version.

And yes, this has been asked and answered MANY times here.

Very easy fix:
control panel / programs and features / turn Windows features on or off (over on the left)
The very top selection is .NET framework.
Enable it and you are fixed.

If it has been answered many times, I am still confused. I just landed 50 feet on my head with Xarelto from getting hit with a car on my bicycle. My brain is still recovering.

It may be an easy fix for you, but not me.

Well, I got the download completed; however, when I plug the SDS 100 into the USB it is not showing up on the drives, with the radio or SD reader.

I just got a new computer with Windows 11 Pro and I am unfamiliar with things I had already Sentinel setup up in Windows 10.

Well, this is a new laptop with Windows 11 Pro. I had everything setup on the old computer, but I don't know why it is not discovering the SDS 100 when plugged in USD or when the SD card reader is plugged the same way.

I stored the Favorites inside the SDS 100 so that I could shoot them into Sentinel.

Oh, Mr. Whitten, you should be flogged for not storing the HPE files on the two external drives. I got the Sentinel loaded & updated with the latest DB. I am getting familiar with this computer and forgot to attach the USB port to the computer.

I thought I saved the Favorites. Well, I was now not what I will be doing in the near future.

Next, I will check the email account to see if any Favorites were saved.

Well, this is a hard lesson to swallow. Will I profit from this experience? I seriously doubt it; however, it gives me a chance to fine tune the radio systems I will be loading again.

I forgot that the Quick Start Keys are handled through the Profile.

Now, that I have stopped cursing, I am starting to laugh.

Hell, I am going to go back to the place where the bicycle wreck occurred & see if a piece of my brain is still there.

Thanks for the help, folks.

Have you ever had worked for a long time on something and lose it? Then, someone walks up and points out the obvious thing you overlooked when you were pissed off. It is even more painful when it is a simple adjustment.

I am going to hang it up for tonight and listen to what I thankfully saved on my SDS 100.

Again, thanks.

In the Documents folder of the old computer, you will find a Uniden folder. Copy that folder to the new computer. It includers all of the profiles and favorites lists.

That little boy was fried. The hard drive had a nervous breakdown on the old computer. LOL.
