Sentinel Software and West Caldwell

I know West Caldwell is on NJICS and I have updated the database several times and I am still not seeing West Caldwell listed...anyone else have an issue with the DB?

Not sure what you mean by that, but if you are thinking that updating the master database updates your favorites lists.... no, it doesn't. That needs to be done manually.

Yep...that's where I got confused...I was expecting it to update the fav list with the new info when the whole DB was updated...to bad since you almost have to know that there was a change....

If updating the database updated the favorites lists, it would wipe out any custom work you do on a favorites list. I edit all of my alpha tags to something understandable and organize systems, departments, and sites to my own liking.

West Caldwell FD and Essex Fells FD moved over to NJiC but they are not yet showing in the db. Are their talk groups available?

I thought they were still analog. But you may be right that they moved or are moving. I did hear WC FD on their analog channel so they may be simulcasting for now.

I believe they are only dispatched on analog now and fireground is on NJIC.

Are you sure it’s West Caldwell and Essex Fells? I heard a call in Essex Fells today all on the analog fireground channel, and West Caldwell had a run last night and same thing, all analog. The plan is for both departments to move to NJICS in the future, but I don’t think they have moved yet. I will have confirmation of this tomorrow from my contact.

Problems with their 40 plus year old VHF system. They modernized as best they could, but they had to do something so they moved to NJICS.

Pretty sure I have been hearing them on old stuff still. Figures they would go, the N. Caldwell and W. Caldwell PD already moved.

Your probably hearing Caldwell PD as they are still using this frequency

I can confirm West Caldwell and Essex Fells fire departments are NOT on NJICS. All dispatch and operations are on their analog channels. There have been no changes yet. Plans are in the works for the switch later this year.
