Serial Port

Does the nine pin serial port on the back of the 536 use a standard pin out, or is it a proprietary arrangement? For example, is the TX and RX lines on the same pins as a standard PC serial port? I am wanting to adapt my Global sat GPS to it, and was wondering how to wire my plug to connect to the 536.
