I've been listening to talkgroup 1851 which is supposed to be Littleton Fire Dispatch. In addition to Littleton Fire Dispatch I have been hearing some sort of law enforcement agency. What the heck is going on? Is there a way that I can program my PRO 96 so that I only hear Littleton Fire Dispatch?

No actually just another quirk of the Pro-96 that you have discovered.

Any idea who you are hearing when this happens or is it random agencies that appear immediatley after the LFD TG ends a voice transmission. Also what site are you experiecing this with?

If it sounds like CSP or Parker PD then it's possibly the TG "Image" problem. If it's random then it's the "Hang-Time" issue of the scanner not reverting to the CC immediately after the end of a voice transmission. Happens alot up here with sites using a "Home channel" strategy.

I got rid of a 1.2 firmware radio because of the TG "Image" problem as I was tired of hearing Jeffco L.E. Dispatch when attempting to listen to Weld Ambulance dispatch. I found a 1.1 radio in Cheyenne last year and have had no problems at all with this. In the case of the 1.2 radio the TG's were numerically 512 apart. (1913-512=1401)

The "Hang-Time" issue is, unfortunately, with all versions

I have brought these issues up publicly about the PRO-96 before but some people get nasty about it and refuse to admit that the radio has serious flaws dealing with the configuration of the state DTRS.

Phil.

So far, I have been experiencing this with the Squaw Mtn. and Thorodin sites. I have also been experiencing an identical problem with the Golden site on a Littleton Fireground channel. It doesn't sound like CSP. Which ever law enforcement agency(s) that I have been hearing have been using "adam" callsigns. I have been using a 1.2 radio. Would it be a good idea to reset it and make it a 1.1? In a few days I'm going to march straight into Radioshack with printouts of some of these posts in my hand. Are Uniden scanners known to have this many/serious of problems?

I don't think you can do that. The DSP is upgradeable/downgradable, but the firmware is hard coded. I'm glad I have a 1.1. I didn't know about the 1.2 problem. But I do have the "hang time" problem. It's sometimes worse than other times for some reason. Maybe when the site(s) is busy it puts the VC back in the pool more quickly. It's annoying.

Firmware is the code that runs the radio. DSP is Digital Signal Processor and is what takes care of the decoding of the digital modulation. The code that runs the DSP chip is what is upgradable.
