Just ordered my Whistler WS-1095 .. from Zip Scanners. With very few US dealers willing to ship to Canada .. my options were limited. But .. this is a great scanner and I do not need a discriminator tapped scanner (already have one or two) ... it was just time to take the plunge on this great scanner.

Agree

I absolutely agree with Sofa King here

I have my PSR-800 recording and I also have a BCD996XT
scanning and logging the same P25 frequencies with Proscan
just to get the P25 NAC, the PSR800 does not log with the audio.

WHISTLER PLEASE add P25 NAC to the Audio file header for logging
with the P25 Radio ID and P25 Talkgroup ID

Thank you

You see...Don does stuff like that. When you look at all the custom options GRE, and now Whistler, gives you in these radios, you can see a level of customization that no one else delivers. That message made my day. I'm down for a WS1095!

Now if only they could add a column in EZscan for NAC in the Audio Index page, I would be SUPER STOKED. Oh please, Don, add that column. I log 24x7 on my WS1080 for UID numbers, but it would save me from using another scanner just to log NAC (or PL/DPL...and log with a dedicated computer). I'm a searcher (scan all G band frequencies), so all that info in one place with built-in recording is what I need. A TG column would also be a plus. And if I could select an option to stop on P25 data bursts when I want to (like the PSR600 does), that would be everything I need to locate and identify all G band activity with full built-in logging...The total solution! I'd buy a few of these things. :)

Press (tap) the vol/sq button once for squelch, and again for volume. Rotate for change in volume /squelch number.

You are awesome DaveIN with your pics & info updates for the WS1095. Loving & enjoying them quite well. I'm keeping myself busy, up late now & trying to stay up to date on this new scanner as best I can before making the buy here living in New Mexico & never owning any kind or type of digital scanner before. Just analog only scanners like the Uniden BCT15X for years which is no good these days & won't pick up much or do most of us any good anymore. It's well time for me to upgrade & make the change to possibly this or even the Uniden BCD996P2 but never the Uniden BCD536HP.

I am getting very hungry to buy it soon if all keeps looking & going good here as it is now from you and others in this foum posting & talking about it. I will keep my eyes on posted user reviews as well on Amazon.com & elsewhere for this new Whistler WS1096 scanner before I get the bravory to purchase it, pick up & maybe hear clearly once again on a scanner like I used to on the analog only scanners that I have owned & used for years.

Whistler WS-1095 Shipping this Week

It's not much of a piece, but it works. Look in the carton.

Whistler 1095

I just got my yesterday and put an sd card in it that I had programmed ahead of time while waiting on it to arrive and it fired up great after setting the time and date . Havn't checked it for the firmware update yet but I will after work today . It is working along side my 1080 and 668 . I did not have time to explore it much last night , I like being able to swap the squeclh function for the volumne .

iS swapping out the old sd card the same as it is in the Uniden 436? Do you have to file or save in computer? Don't you need the old memory card to transfer info to new memory card?

Does Whistler come with a 4 GB memory card and what will this improve by putting in a higher memory card?
