Should my SDRTrunk be cycling my 4 control channels or staying locked on one?
I'm hearing some traffic, possibly all of it as the system isn't very busy being a small county.

I'm open to all feedback also as I'm just starting and possible I have missed something.

I'm under the impression its a simulcast system so I'm monitoring it on C4FM and LSM, is why I show 2 controls.
System I'm after

It should stay locked - generally when you're seeing it cycle, it's lost the control channel and is looking for the active one.

You don't need it to be running twice like that - only once as LSM, since it does appear to be a simulcast site.

You can filter the events tab there and only show sync loss messages - a good way to determining if you're keeping lock or losing lots of data.

The frequency spread will require 2 RTL-SDR dongles (if that is what you are using) in order to fully track the system properly. Otherwise, it will absolutely be missing traffic.

Thank you, I will make that change and only run one. I was just trying to see if I was missing traffic.

Errors appear good.

I’m running 2 RTL-SDR v4, thanks for checking. I’ve tried to do all my prior research before setting up so I wasn’t asking questions that were my own fault.

Hopefully someone can chime in on this thread and give me an easy way to feed directly into Broadcastify calls?
It appears old versions of SDRTrunk had an option but call I have is a Broadcastify feeds no calls and I assume these use different several putting my API in under the calls wouldn’t work?

Calls and regular feeds are separate systems. You'll have to apply to provide a calls node if you have not already. Same API can be used, that does not matter. Broadcast a Feed to Broadcastify

Thank you that clears it up.
Starting out I plan to just provide feed since there seems to be mobile app support for listeners to stream live. But might add a calls node in with time after I get everything going good. Unless, someone can give me some more insight on that possibility?

Older versions of SDRtrunk I saw had the option for Broadcastify feed and Broadcastify call but my Verizon 6 only has calls so was expecting to need to use another software to do that.

I will apply for a feed and proceed from there.

If your dongles ppm is set properly and your getting a good clean signal, it should not be cycling and stay locked. You can bump up the Frequency Rotation Delay which makes it stay on each freq for a longer period of time. Useful when not receiving an optimal signal.

For a regular feed in SDRTrunk just choose Icecast 2 and fill in your details. SDRTrunk can be used to provide both regular feeds and calls, as well as conventional or trunked.

As you are running v0.6.1 of sdrTrunk, you can send a traditional feed into Broadcastify and a calls feed, no need for Icecast for a Broadcastify traditional feed. I have done that 24/7 for the past couple years and recently added OpenMHz to the mix. Just setup a personal Icecast feed for myself this past weekend. Not 100% sure if I will keep that or not though LOL

EDIT: Just realized that the Broadcastify feed is missing in v0.6.1 - Will message developer to see why as I think it should be there.

That's why I mentioned Icecast 2. Traditional Broadcastify feeds use icecast so inside SDRTrunk you can select icecast2 as the stream type and input your details.

Well there was a place for a traditional feed and you put the information provided in the proper named fields and away you went. Waiting to hear back from Denny on it as I've emailed him about it. The way it is done for the broadcastify feed it shows feed ID, etc. that you are given and you can't really put that in a icecast setup.

I set 2 up today. Went to icecast, and in the process Feed popped up, selected and it proceeded on. When I set the 2nd up I had to use icecast as Feed option never showed only Calls. Was rather odd but could never get it again.

That is weird. As I tried to setup a traditional feed this morning using my information as icecast and while I have one running, it should of gave me a mountpoint in use in the CMD window but it didn't. I turned the traditional feed on that is in this computer and I got the expected mountpoint in use and it tries to connect every so often. I have another system that is running at my work so if power or internet went down at home, that will automatically connect and keep the feed running.

Ok, while I still am waiting for Denny to reply to my email, I just installed the nightly on a system at work. There were no streams tied to this nor was I logged in using my credentials to here. I clicked on New and the traditional feed is not there and then I noticed this in the window:

Capture11.PNG

So I went up and put in my login in the Radio Reference tab and once logged in, my traditional feed shows up.

feed.PNG

I am not sure of what and where, if you are trying to add a second traditional feed in IceCast settings, as there is more information in there than a traditional feed that I've shown above. Will have to mess with it with my other system here at work.
