The Silicon Valley Regional Communications System central cell is active this evening. Control channel is currently 774.20625 with 771.78125, 772.08125 and 774.48125 as alternates. Central is appearing as peer to the West cell. No voice traffic observed.

SVRCS West Cell Failure? I'm hearing the Central cell carrying all traffic as of typing. SCFD SCPD and SVDPS were having trouble getting out and had to reset their radios. Motorola's encrypted tech talkgroup has been buzzing.

Update: Hearing traffic of some sort of "cutover" Perhaps this is the Santa Clara simulcast being moved to the new shelter? Very strange behavior

Update as of 8am. Sunnyvale is operating on Baymacs. Santa Clara seems to be using their old Type II system although I cannot confirm the latter.

I'm deciding if I want to upgrade to Phase 2 equipment.

I don't monitor the central cell, so I don't know if it crashed as well. Sunnyvale PD switched to Baymacs and then to South Bay Law 1 (TG 35706) when the west cell came back online. They returned to their assigned TG around 10:10 am.

Sunnyvale FD switched to White 1 and then to South Bay Fire 1 (TG 35714) when the west cell came back online. They returned to their assigned TG around 10:08 am.

SVRIA has a pending application for the 12 low power (2 watt) regional and nationwide frequencies: 769.00625, 769.01875, 769.03125, 769.04375, 769.05625, 769.06875, 774.93125, 774.94375, 774.95625, 774.96875, 774.98125, 774.99375 with both narrow band FM and P25 Phase I emission designators.

Mt. Chual, Mt. Madonna and Copernicus Peak, and possibly Coyote Lakes Park, are other planned ASR sites. Not sure of the plan for Pacheco Peak. Anyone know?

Both the West and Central cells are now announcing the South cell as a peer with control channel 771.70625. Not picking up control channel traffic on this frequency in northern Santa Clara County. Maybe someone with better coverage of south county can hear something on 771.70625?
