Los Gatos' site and the Doyle Rd site don't seem to be active yet. The Doyle antennas look to be up already. I haven't driven by the "Stickney" tower yet so I wouldn't know about that one. Also, as of right now, Sunnyvale is still on their T-band system. No simulcasting going on.

Greetings,
I was able to receive some transmissions here in Hayward using an 8-element yagi pointed southwest. However the decode is not too good on my PSR800. Half of the transmissions are garbled and half are clear. However, the audio loudness of the clear transmissions is very loud. I tried both on and off with the AGC, but did not make a differents.

Consoles have been installed finally in Sunnyvale. According to the city blog, live by the end of the month. I have not heard heavy testing on the SNY tgs recently.

Hi,

The Home Patrol 1 won't decode Phase II signals. Most if not all Silicon Valley systems are Phase II digital. You will need a Home Patrol 2 receiver (or similar device) to listen.

While the system is yet to be completed, I get very good reception from multiple locations. I did notice some encryption on a couple of Sunnyvale channels. They may have been testing or using it for surveillance purposes, in which case you won't be able to decode the transmissions. Most channels have been in the clear.

What has to be completed on the system ? And do you think more channels for sunnyvale and other cities will be encrypted in the future ?

Hearing San Jose radio techs today on TGID 1572 Identifying the channel as "ACS 1" which I would assume is Animal Control Services.

Does anyone have the WACN for this system? I don't see it in the database...

Edit: Nevermind, it's the standard Motorola BEE00. :)

I assume based off the conversation here and the P25 Phase II wiki page that my PSR-500 Scanner needs a replacement bought to listen to SVRCS now?

Correct, the PSR-500/600 will not work when listening to a "Phase II" system. I really like my GRE and Radio Shack scanners and am hoping Whistler will produce a Phase II capable scanner. The past models of GRE scanners decode digital better than Unidens. I would hope that Don Starr, who wrote software for every GRE and Radio Shack scanner since 2000 will partner up with Whistler as well. His products are my favorites.

Mountain View PD seems to have gotten a good batch of new APX7000 portables. I'm hearing the new radios on their existing T-Band system. (51xx ids) I believe they are running new Harris Unity mobiles on the caprices (55xx ids) I also noticed just about all of LAPD has the 7000's now. I've seen some PAPD officers carrying them as well. Per their Facebook, PAPD has chosen the Unity mobile as well. There have been some events where I have heard SO units key up on SVRCS for mutual aid, and I wonder if the compatible radios already have the new interop talkgroups on them.

I believe the Whistler 1080 gets phase II.

Has San Jose FD moved to the system? Up until a few weeks ago, it seems that I was able to hear them on their VHF channels, as shown in the RR database. Now, the only place where I'm hearing them (dispatch) is on the Santa Clara County FD channel labeled SCCFD CMD 23. It is somewhat broken and there is always what sounds like some other voice talking in the background (I apologize if my terminology isn't completely accurate).

Has anyone else noticed this lately? I have a Radio Shack PRO-651 (non-Phase II capable). I'm from the Sacramento area and am only in San Jose for about six hours a day, three days a week, during a layover on my job so I don't have much time to study this issue when I'm in the area.
