Yes, I enjoyed reading and learned something as a former CT resident so not bs.
Sometimes we are not 100% accurate as to what we say. I know I have tried elsewhere to provide info or opinion and have been criticized.
I don’t mind being corrected if my info is wrong but I do mind if others do not respect opinions or use a blanket comment to apply to everything in a post.
If you took the time to post, others should take time to outline specifics if they do not like. I was raised to respect others opinions but to answer with constructive criticism and detail if I disagreed.

Maybe one of the multiple simsbury members who frequent the forum would be willing to chime in and clear up any discrepancies.

@n1chu Simsbury has issued all interior fire fighters and officer's portable radios. We also have Motorola Pagers with a few unication pagers that some officers have. There was no committee regarding the scanners. A chief officer was going to buy one for himself and offered to do a group purchase (member would pay for the scanner) and the more scanners purchased the cheaper it would be per member

Yes. That is my understanding also. My source is a member of the Simsbury Fire District. (Which I mentioned in a previous post.) Thanks for the confirmation.

smartconnect, just to be clear, of course it is up to you how and how much you post and obviously your choice, but using “Jesus” in a post is maybe not the best choice of words or necessary and I am not overly religious.
Also, back on topic, after all these posts in this thread, correct me if I am wrong, but it sounds like you are saying they are not encrypted when everyone else says they are, but it is hard to tell from your post.

For some reason he seems to have an issue with radio enthusiasts being radio enthusiasts in a radio enthusiast forum.

I stopped doing stuff like this when I was around 12 and if he's an adult I feel sorry for him.

Wow people have a lot of poop. If any of you are actually from Connecticut I hope you are not examples of what I left behind. I would hope there are some decent, sane people left. It is pretty easy to judge people by how they write and use words. I know I will get more poops for this and I may be taking it too seriously. A dislike would have been adequate although still no courtesy of an explanation.
Back on topic, after all this, I still do not see a definite answer on Simsbury and what does this mean? What fear?

Strapped – Encryption is permanently attached to a channel and is always on, cannot be controlled by the user. The talkgroup is always encrypted and encryption cannot be turned off.
