Local jurisdictions commonly using simulcast. Problem is I don't have schools, etc. in my programming, but those are still picked up on simulcast channel. I can lock out, but don't see them for download and including in my file so don't have to temporarily lock out each day. Any suggestions on how not to pick up those unwanted broadcasts?

Can you give the jurisdiction you are listening to, so people can look at it in the database and perhaps get a better understanding of the situation?

Where are you located and which system are you monitoring?

It sounds as if you are monitoring the voice channels manually rather than allowing the scanner to track the system automatically via the control channel(s).

If you are using a Uniden scanner, I'd suspect you are in ID Search rather than ID Scan.

ID Search will monitor all the talkgroups in the given system except those you lock-out (as you described).

ID Scan will monitor only those talkgroups you have programmed, except those which you lock-out)

Any

Suffolk, VA, but same applies to any simulcast.

I'll check the ID search vs. scan.

Unless you deliberately or inadvertently programmed the schoolbus talkgroup, ID Search is more and more likely.

Also this issue would be true regardless of the trunked system being a simulcast or "regular cast".
