Issues with simulcast tonight.

Sounds like LAW, OPS1, and FIRE are all out of service at the moment. Fire and Ops 1 have audio but no PL.

And the periodic data bursts on the LTAC channels are what?

Must be something in your area, I just went through them and I cant hear anything.

But sometimes, when a unit is out of range of the trunked system and tries to talk on it, their radio gets cut out every half second or so- I have recorded it and it sounds like pager data or telemetry or something. It seems to interfere with many different frequencies so it must be powerful.

The radios are really bad right now, there is a very very loud buzz. It was pretty soft, techs seemed to have fixed it but now its probably the worse Ive ever heard it... Im near High Heaven right now.

More issues yet again - open carriers... and this time during these random system freak out sessions - units can't communicate with dispatch or each other.

Looking through the fcc listings for YC, their low band system is still completely licensed as active... I wonder if that is their backup, also, putting the 8TAC and 8CALL frequencies in my scan list that are licensed to High Heaven and Mountain Top - I heard an morse identifier on one of them so those are active as well. Unknown if its actually from those towers though...

Chances are that the morse identifier you're hearing on the 8CALL and various 8TACs are actually coming from Portland. Although I believe WCCCA licensed out the 8CALL and 8TAC frequencies, I am not aware that they actually built anything out on them.

Ah, Ill have to hear it again later on and see if I can't get the license. But you're probably right, it was scratchy when it came through, due to that, I though it might be from Mountain Top. We'll see.

I heard this: WPPH323 on the frequency awhile ago, so that confirms it is Portland's.
