New Greenbrier Co Site?

There may be a new Greenbrier Co site online. Somebody living in that vicinity has reported an active CC on 460.4125 with a voice freq of 453.7375.

There are no trunked licenses active or pending in WV with those frequencies. However, Greenbrief Co and Alderson do have both of those frequencies on conventional licenses.

So I suspect they have put up another sitein that county, and it will probably be 2-0xx.

If anyone here is in Greenbrier Co or surrounding area, plug in 460.4125 as a new trunked site control channel and see if you can get any details, such as the RFSS information (zone /site id) and alternate Cc, etc.

This could be a false alarm, and these frequencies may simply be conventional P25 frequencies. Somebody in Greenbrier Co should attempt to confirm one way or another though.

Look in the SIRN database, of course, for any talkgroups / site information.

There are no sites in Brooke / Hancock.

Lewisburg Site 2-041

There is a new site on Muddy Creek Mountain (Lewisburg) in Greenbrier County that went online late last week. Running Pro96Com shows site 2-041 with CC as 460.4125 and AC as 453.4375 and a voice channel as 453.5375.

Showing callsign WPWB991 which is registered to Greenbrier Co 911. I'm guessing those are spare temp frequencies until the site has a license.

Site neighbors are 2-26 Alderson, 2-27 White Sulphur Springs and 2-40 Quinwood.

There is a tower in Brooke Co. It is under the Ohio Co. Simulcast System and it is tied into the Tower in West Liberty. Here is the info .

WQQD344 (OHIO COUNTY COMMISSIONS) FCC Callsign Details

Existence of a tower means nothing. If that site were online, i'd pick it up with no antenna from my location right across the river. And if it were online with the listed frequencies, it would be part of the Ohio Co Simulcast [effectively turning it into a northern panhandle simulcast].

Brooke county

They are still active on vhf. As far as I know the Brooke County tower isn't active nor will it be for a while. Maybe they are going to operate on the Ohio County tower like Brooke County EMA/EMS

I've noticed that over the past week that the Cottle Control Ch has switched to the alt 453.3125. I discovered this after strong interference was noticed on 453.325 (Webster Fire Dispatch.) Since I live practically underneath this site and the signal is so strong, I'm unable to monitor Webster Fire now:(

Just wanted to make you guys aware since you may want to change it in the DB. I'm not sure if the change-over was normal or if they are having trouble with the site. If I notice anything else I'll be sure to pass it along.

73s and have a wonderful weekend:)

Greetings all,

Captured three talkgroups today that appear to be encrypted -

7107
7117
7145

Based on the numbering scheme, they might be Wood County talkgroups ... any ideas?

It is my understanding that Parkersburg Police has a special events talkgroup on SIRN; will try to ID it during the homecoming this weekend.

If the one Wood County entry in the SIRN database is correct, then those should be Wood County talkgroups.

The 07 talkgroup should be Sheriff's Dispatch, although it shouldn't be encrypted on a permanent basis.
The 17 talkgroup is likely to be another law enforcement talkgroup
It may be anybody's guess on 45.
