SDS100/SDS200: Site hold display issue

When holding on a system, department, or channel everything displays correctly and the color reverses. The issue is when I hold on a site. Normally it displays white on a black background. When holding on a site it turns the background white, but the site stays white. It should reverse and have black text and white background, should it not?
Is there something I have set incorrect in display customization?

What it does when doing a hold are not to reverse colors. It uses the text color as background and makes the text black. It works as it should in my SDS100E in simple and detailed display trunk mode. It could be a bug. What scanner and what display mode are you in and what firmware release do you have?

You are correct, not sure why I said reversed
SDS100, detailed display mode, and latest firmware. I just tried it in simple mode and it works correctly, never used it in simple mode.

Uniden uses the same base firmware code for all x36 scanners and only change small areas of code that are specific for the model, and display colors are not something that would change between SDS100/100E/USDS100/200/200E/USD200 so would be the same bug in all those scanners with their latest firmware.

Correct, white with black background. Same setup on detailed and on simple.

I don't see that happen in my SDS100E using 1.23.07 but I always had my doubt about the firmware code for site hold as it shows the site name in the department field for 3 sec in addition to the site names normal position on the display when you enable or disable a site hold. So there's one visible bug in that function and there are other bugs in the hold function if you manually scroll into an avoided system.

I would think that the firmware code are done to always print text in black when a hold are used but somehow when the white text color are copied, that has the value FFFFFF, to be used as background it skips the line where it should print the black text, with a value of 000000. Maybe it could be related to the department text colors. What colors do you use there?

Magenta - System
Green - Department
Yellow - channel

White for everything else, except yellow for talk group, CTSS and where it says data or P25. Background is all black.

I have not moved anything around either.

Update

I did some more testing and noticed that it does work correctly when a transmission is present. This is different than in simple mode. In simple mode the site name is always visible. In detail mode the site background and font is all white and not readable. When a transmission is present the font is black and background is white as it should be.

Save your display config in Sentinel and load another one, or reset to initial, and only change the site to the colors you use now and test again. It it works as it should then load the old display config back again and test.

If that didn't help then reset to initial again and start changing the display items colors one by one and test each time until you get the issue and report to @JoeBearcat of that bug. I haven't managed to get my scanner to display that anomaly.

@Ubbe thanks. I narrowed it down further, its where I have "Site Name" positioned on the display. If I put it somewhere else in detail mode it works fine. Here is my layout, I didn't think I moved that piece but I did, sorry about that, been a while since I seen the default layout.

I can confirm that I also get that same bug when site name are in that specific position. It doesn't seem to happen in a few other positions I've tried in the display, even with a very old 1.07.04 E firmware. Something that @JoeBearcat should report to higher authority.

I tried this as well and also found that when not in site hold the display location is blank. Looks like it is not displaying the text unless the site is active.

I noticed that as well. I have moved the field for now until there is a fix. I did send an email to Uniden for good measure.

It's when you change the default TG ID location below Channel Name, the item called "Channel option" in the xml file, to instead show Site Name that it doesn't write the black text in the field during a site hold. The text color can by anything and that color will be used as background during a site hold. The background color used does not matter.

I've tried Site Name set to a couple of other locations in the display and haven't found any issues with those.

I've only tested in Detailed Trunk mode. According to @feedbak the black text in Site Name are presented when a conversation are active during site hold.

Whatever display location the Site Name are set to will anyhow copy the site name to the Department Names location when doing site hold or unhold unti it times out after 3 sec.
