Slow scanning

I have bcd996 and i dont have a whole lot of freqs programed it maby 10. It scans sooooo slow.
Any reasons why??

If you do a forum search slow scanning on this scanner and the BCT15 you will find that setting the HOLD time to Zero will speed things up..

Do you have 'pl tones' on all of your freqs? If so make sure you squelch isn't all the way open.
Just a suggestion.

setting the HOLD time to Zero will speed things up..
He means each system has a default hold time of 2 sec. Change that to 0. Also, it helps to have the software sort the frequencies in each group in ascending or descending order.
