Went through the FCC database and found only two licenses for 'SNACC - Clark County' neither of them are listed P25, still FM. I went through and filtered the data matching the frequency to the site. There are many repeats so I'm thinking you can make one master site and enter all the freqs as is or enter them as they are below and then see what comes up.

Its working..

Hey you guys.. sorry I had to.. So without taking into consideration the new information I would like to thank you all for previous and new info. I have successfully somehow managed to get access to hear Henderson talk groups again. WOOHOO..

Now the only change I made in reference to this is to add a frequency that was posted earlier in this thread (853.9000) to the mandalay site (Just as a thought instead of creating a new site).

I was about to ask about Band Plans but then noticed 737Mech posted info about band plans so I will still have to review that.. Oddly enough in Sentinel adding the sites right out of the master DB there is no info in the band Plan for any of the sites, and this is why I was going to ask about them.

Needless to say I am now getting audio from Henderson and NLV at the same time again..

Here is some info that may be useful or may just be gibberish.

(see Attached Image)

1. Henderson Main Dispatch shows as popping up on 853.4000
2. Henderson Information shows as popping up on 851.2500
3. Henderson Swat 2 shows as popping up on 852.9125

Needless to say it is working right now and I cannot thank you all enough for the info.. I will update more if anything else I do makes it better..

Automated TGID HFD Dispatch

Park on TGID 2577 this automated thing is cool!

I recall in Dallas they added some cool verbage on a structure fire call, They added "Lets Roll Em!" "Structure Fire ...address..Engine/Truck/Rescue etc'"

Well as noted before, the 853.9000 is a control channel now (the primary one from what I can tell) for the SNACC P25 system and it's not even listed in the RR database entry for the P25 side of things, at least not yet so yes it had to be added as a control channel and not just another frequency or else you'd never get anything from it. Voice activity doesn't happen on that frequency at all, just P25 Phase I control channel data.

As for the other frequencies, since there's 3 control channels according to how the system is laid out (as I mentioned earlier), the rest of them are used for voice channel activity and it'll change based on what's going on, obviously. I still get different agencies based on which control channel I choose to monitor (I can't use Unitrunker's multisite capability since the 853.9000 and 859.9375 sites are too far apart for my RTL sticks' 2.4 MHz window) so, I either monitor one or the other but I can't do both at the same time. Some stuff shows up on one and not the other which I suppose is by design or at least till they work out all the kinks in the P25 system.

The 859.4625 CC that's still listed on the RR entry isn't used anymore so, that stuff needs to be updated soon. Guess I'll work on the fixes and then see about submitting them.

But at least I can monitor some of it for the time being which is better than nothing at all I suppose.

EDIT:
Also, it appears there's now fire/EMS activity from Henderson FD whereas just a few hours ago there wasn't, go figure. :)

Wow, that was somewhat unexpected I suppose, was using 854.7125 to monitor the analog side of things since the 854.4125 site disappeared a few weeks back, now 7125 is gone as well - was just listening in on that yesterday too.

It appears (although I can't verify it at the moment) that traffic on the analog side bumped over to 853.5500 (Apex Peak). I can't get a decent signal for Unitrunker to latch on to directly controlling my RTL sticks but I can hear the CC if I use SDR# so I fired up both apps and I'm seeing SNACC analog traffic on (with the site number caught by Unitrunker):

853.5500 (Site 2 Apex Peak)
853.9500 (Site 10 but it's listed by RR as Site 13 West Site 800 as a secondary CC)

So far that's where everything seems to have "moved" and I can get both of them somewhat ok, guess I'll need to reorient my antennas here to make sure I can still get the analog side of things.

For the P25 activity I've been finding stuff at these today:

852.8750 Site 002-033
854.9250 Site 002-033

Yes they ID as the same site, not sure why but that's what Unitrunker gets from the signals. Who knows, maybe my whole setup is borked nowadays but that's what I'm seeing. ;)

Also, for people with real scanners this most likely isn't an issue but for me with these RTL sticks, the fact that they're now pushing P25 signals all across the spectrum there between 851 and 860 MHz I have noted a lot more interference across that band: when one of the P25 signals goes out it "wrecks" things in terms of spurious signals because we all know these RTL sticks just ain't the greatest things ever and can't handle that kind of input. It's getting tougher to keep tabs on things - I can tell when a P25 signal is transmitting almost because I see the signal health in Unitrunker drop.

Guess I'll need to look into some better hardware at some point, both my sticks are shielded with aluminum foil (yeah, I know) and I have shielded USB cables with chokes on 'em as well so, not much else I can do at this point.

Better quality now

Today I got these from pro96com.

Site 33 853.9
Site 31 852.8
Site 30 859.9625
Site 24 853.05
Site 23 853.3375
Site 22 859.4625
Site 21 859.9375

737mech, I input only these frequencies on their own sites, I can say that I am getting 100% better signal from sites 21 and 23 than any other. I am also getting 100% clearer communication reception.

Henderson PD used to be very spotty on weather it would come in or not, but that is now resolved and crystal clear on those two sites. (looking at the signal meter these sites are closest to me).

I also duplicated the sites into Henderson FD, NLV PD & FD and all is now well.

I know we don't have the whole system figured out yet & changes to the system are still active, but discussing it here while still having wrong/old data in the RRDB sure adds to the confusion. If you're sure about something, can you please submit it to the DB?

For example, the Mandalay Bay SNACC P25 info in the DB is wrong. I'm still trying to find out the active SNACC P25 control channel(s) used by the Mandy site. But the RRDB lists one site #, and then everyone here has been mentioning other site #s, and not stating which one is Mandy.

BTW: SNACC P25
TG 1207 is: Police Department | Las Vegas Paiute Tribe
TG 4087 is: Moapa Tribal Police Department
TG 2051 is: ??? Possibly SNWS or LV Valley Water Dist. At 9:25PM, a user mentioned that some trucks had just left thru the gate & everything was OK. RIDs 327## & 328## series.

P25 or Not P25?

Any idea who is not converted to P25 yet? I can still hear LVF on the old system. Just wondering if anyone is keeping up with the changes and progress of the P25 switch over? It would be nice to start deleting the old and making room for the new on my scanner.

Haven't been monitoring much lately as I use OSX these days, haven't bothered to muck around with Unitrunker/DSD+ in a VM just yet but I'll probably get around to it at some point. It's somewhat sad that nobody is doing much of anything in terms of software development on OSX for a digital decoder, I almost wish it was possible to get the DSD+ devs to make an attempt at an OSX port of their code to see how it might function.

I swear I wish I had spent more time learning about software development, hindsight being what it is I feel so far behind the curve now that even if I went on a binge of learning and coding it would take years to probably get anything functional.

Maybe something neat will happen, who knows. ;)

I can't receive any or the old system control channels anymore here in Henderson.

Has anybody checked out 853.900 there is data there now or something my unitrunker wont tell me what it is it was a control channel before, but not working as a control channel today.

I just tuned in 853.9000 manually using GQRX to listen and what I'm hearing is the traditional control channel "growler" audio but it's not being modulated in any manner meaning there appears (or at least sounds) like there's absolutely nothing going on with it. Typically when a control channel has activity you can listen to it and hear it constantly fluctuating as data is modulated over the signal but that's not the case here 'cause it's just nothing happening at all.

Guess they're getting ready to make a change and potentially pull the plug on the analog side of things, we'll find out soon enough I suppose.

The control channel for the SNACC P25 system seems to be 859.93750. I have 2 BCD396T scanners and 1 BCD996XT. One 396T is set to the old Fire Dept. analog system and the other is set to the new P25 system. The 996XT is set to the new P25 system. Sometimes I get chatter on all three at the same time during a fire call. At times I get chatter on the two scanners set to the P25 system and at other times I only get chatter on the analog scanner. I put all of the new 4 digit TGID's into the 996XT. Using the ID scan with the 996XT, at times the ID scan number and the talk group number are the same. Example ID scan 2571 and talk group number 2571. On other occasions the ID scan will be 2629 and the talk group is 2577. 2577 is for the Henderson Fire Dispatch. There are many times where the ID scan and the talk group numbers do not match. On the 396T the talk group seems to be correct. As a side note, for the past several weeks the fire radios have been tested at 8:00am Monday morning.
