Will Warren go that route, or switch bands and stay independent? Something has to change with all the issues around their PD frequency causing them to go onto EMS during the peak.

What I'd like to see is an IO between Bernardsville PD and Fire/EMS because going through the County about Atlantic EMS and scene updates really isn't cutting it. Or, they take a Bound Brook/NP approach and the HQ has a radio parked on Fire Region 1. Just something to cut this telephone nonsense out.

Copy that….not an insider, my 02. Invested six figures for microwave for (3) repeaters with each 8 remote receiver sites. May I stop there? Oh 911 equipment and training too.

It is clear, they are out. Radio sadly is and will remain political. EMS easy answer. There is no NJSA Chapter law. Many but all do not care. Somerset County clearly has no appetite.

I believe that includes some new frequencies currently not being used.
Negative, the frequencies listed on this notice have been in service since the capacity was doubled at the end of last year. At most, one new path will come online; otherwise, the site is in the right place for what the administrators intended to reach.

This new site might allow bernardsville PD to switch to county?

Perhaps. I am surprised that whole UHF VRS to lowband backhaul has held up for so long. I don't have ties to Bernardsville, but it begs the question if they'd stay self-dispatched and do what North Plainfield does (and Bound Brook used to) and take on a PD Region, or go full-time to SCC with their Fire and EMS counterparts.

Perhaps indeed! I see they finally got Collyer Lane in Bernards licensed. A bit of a mystery why they intend to build a tower and a site on Pill Hill when Collyer is just 1.5 miles away. Not very efficient. Unless of course it gets moved. Warren anyone?

Past actions leads me to believe Bernardsville is going to continue with low band
until Pill Hill is built. I wonder how they stand that 250ms echo delay.

Who is the big cheese? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Knowing the politics and population of B Vile, PD will self dispatch. On their own talk group. I think they need multiple sites looking into the town , with multiple satellite receivers to get in building portable coverage. NIMBY rules apply.....

Not built but papered is Site 6 on WQRK429 (the County 700 TRS spans several licenses). Site 6 is central Bernardsville. Also papered not built is School House Lane, Potterville. The highest point in the County. I suspect the hope is Rodgers and Pill Hill will suffice.

That is true. They do have a dedicated PD TG for backup on the system, so they could definitely occupy that instead of a region if they stay self-dispatched. Be an easy transition on the officer side too because it's already in the portables at least. Don't blame them if it works well not giving the reigns over to a regional facility. Indeed, NIMBY.

Any idea where Warren PD dispatch has moved to? The only transmissions that are now on their original frequency (500.4125) are calls to Atlantic Ambulance. Are they on the county system?
