Hi All,
Maybe you've seen my post in General Discussions about compiling a spreadsheet for the Part 90 - Public Safety - Conventional agencies within a 150 mile radius of Shreveport, LA. I've been searching the F.C.C. Database by each frequency for AR, LA, OK, & TX. This information will be only shared with the heads of EEOC's, in case they want to monitor it and local ham radio repeaters during Skywarn and disaster call-ups.....chemical fires, explosions, woods or forest fires, 18-wheeler wrecks or bad road conditions.
Today, I was looking up 154.385 mHz. and came across an "unusual" finding that made me laugh out loud. Yep, it's the GREASY VFD, in BUNCH County, near Stillwell, OK. Now, THAT's FUNNY...the 'Greasy Bunch'. Bwahahahahahaha. It made my morning. Greasy is certainly out of range of any of our scanner capabilities here, but it was fun to see.
Now, in all fairness, I'm sure there are other agencies in towns all over the USA that have unusual names and places. BTW, I've been through Oklahoma, many times. It's a very beautiful state and it's people are wonderful.
Respectfully submitted,
