As of Monday morning this week (7/17/2023) it appears Southington Fire Operations on 154.070 / PL 82.5 either changed or is not being broadcast.
I'm guessing they may have switched to P25. Just noticed my scanner was picking up PD and others but lacking fire ops on that day. The Other Fire Ops on 151.295 PL 100.0 appears to still be working as dispatch only for FD.. most likely for analog pagers if my guess is correct.

I have my scanner set to all audio vs analog PL search only.. see if it picks up P256 on the same frequency. I'm out of the state at the moment so only so much I can do...

There may be an issue with the system as I used to be able to hear them in Granby but no longer can. Perhaps one of those thunderstorms scored a hit.

I heard Southington go out last night around 6:45pm, so nothing has changed on 154.070. Same PL too.
Interesting. I reset my radio, same thing. Took PL requirements off and nothing. Reset my scanner and have been listening on another radio too to be sure. I used to get -60db so it was VERY close to me, I'm on Summer right down the road from the FD at Summer/Main where I think they transmit from, at least one transmitter they use for Simulcast. I still get PD at -60db as well. We had a big flash of lightning at 9am Sunday before this happened that was CLOSE.. maybe that did it. Antenna is inside on ground level with those -60db. If it tried outside or actually positioned the antenna maybe Ill get another simulcast tower.

Yeah I think maybe one transmitter that is the closest to me may be out. Im on a b ottom of a hill so its perhaps the one one near me I can get.

I know this is about southington fire but has the Southington Police Department change radio 10 codes because I have been hearing a lot of code 10 and some other codes I just don’t remember what they are

I have it working again. I'm not sure if it was the signal or not.
I realized using the RR Database via Uniden Sentinel, it labels the channels for both Fire Dispatch and Fire Operations as "Fire Operations". I was using this default setting. If you go to edit it on the scanner it warns you you have channels with the same name in the same department.
I renamed them so 154.070 is Fire Dispatch.. and everything started working again? At the same time I also started monitoring via my HT I have on that frequency and heard things. So either the signal is fixed, or everything just started working. I'll take it either way.

I did submit a RR database fix request for the display names being wrong.

What model scanner are you using that reception is affected by the display name being duplicated? I have never heard of that, and that's a far far off guess as a fix. In fact, I will put money on that's NOT the issue you're having.
If you read the thread above, others have also noticed signal degradation, so your display issue isn't the problem.

Does anybody know fire ground one frequency? Or is it known as operation one day call came in and DISPATCH said go to fire incident one but I never heard nothing else. I will look again on FCC for more frequencies.

Fire ground one is a low power simplex channel. RR data base says the FG channel is 158.9625 with a 047DPL. It is only used on larger incidents.
