Article in today's Morning News of Northwest Arkansas has the details. They are going to Kenwood Nexedge. The article is behind a paywall, but the gist is they are switching in the next 1.5 years after remodeling the dispatch center.

There is a contradictory statement in the article regarding their use of encryption: "Hudson said he doesn't know if the department's new radios will have this capability. He said department commanders aren't planning to use it. They plan to have open communications and, at times, the type of encryption that is garbled."

Too bad they aren't going to AWIN.

LOL, not yet anyway... Be aware that Whistler has stated the possibility of DMR, and "other formats" in the first of their original Whistler scanners in the next couple of years....
