I'm up there every day and the radios the badge checkers are using are still the old cheap VHF radios and I get them on my radio on VHF when I'm up there. The UHF antenna may be so the beach control can talk directly to the SSP PD or maybe for the lightning detection system. I'll have to investigate more.

They may be using the same as Seaside Heights which has quite a number of frequencies, some are DMR, assigned two Beach Patrol It's worth a shot.
Definitely not on UHF, because I have worked on the PDs radios and they are not in them.
Recently, down in Seaside, they are using the following for the Park, 155.175 - 107.2 - also in past years, 155.9325 DCS 223, 150.775 PL 107.2 and 150.805 DCS 223 - log through the years.
Have you tuned into said VHF listing or no?
I was just at Seaside Park earlier today and heard the lifeguards using the VHF frequencies listed in the database. In fact, I heard all of the VHF frequencies in use, except for the Beach Maint one (was only in the area for 45 mins). However, I was searching for the Berkeley Beach Badge Attendants frequency and found that one (yes, a submission was made to the database) while monitoring the Seaside Park VHF lifeguard/beach patrol channels to make sure they were still in use.
Seaside Heights are using the frequencies listed above in the thread, and they are a separate town with their own operations plan.

Yes, definitely not UHF. UHF is a stubbly or narrow antenna. I looked at the radios that the lifeguards and badge checkers were walking with this morning. They are definitely VHF and they are Icom radios. I didn't look close enough at the picture the first time I commented

Sorry kids that is not a VHF antenna, I've had all of SSP LG channels in all day, heard nothing, but there was chatter on his radio.
Instead of having all their current DB listed frequencies programmed it would have been better to run close call or search depending on what scanner you have. If I still lived in the area I would have this figured out.
