New to the area. I am near Iroquois and was wondering what the proper frequencies are? I am familiar with Welland, as I used to live in St Catharines, Niagara Falls, but for this end of the canal I am completely confused.... I got one but is there another one or a few for down and up?

A few years back, I posted this:

St. Lawrence Seaway and Welland Canal

156.700 - Seaway Beauharnois Sector 1
156.600 - Seaway Eisenhower Sector 2
156.550 - Seaway Iroquois Sector 3
156.650 - Seaway Clayton Sector 4 (St. Lawrence River portion)
156.600 - Seaway Sodus Sector 4 (Lake Ontario portion)
156.550 - Seaway Newcastle Sector 5
156.700 - Seaway Welland Sector 6
156.550 - Seaway Long Point Sector 7

Just to cover all Marine stuff, upload this: Marine Channels (Canada) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference

You may hear ship to ship or ship to shore.

Thank you very much. I had to reprogram my TRX-1 as it deleted most of the database in the scanner for some reason. So I had to start all over again which totally sucked and took me about an hour but I think because of you helping I think I am up and going now finally.

Awesome @Noseybody. I have updated Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry with a Seaway category specific to Iroquois.

Looking at that Lock Crew frequency made me check out TAFL: TAFL Search Results
If any of those become active, we could add those to later on.

So, @Megsixo, try those as well.
I picked that one up with close call while at the lock a while back. They usually use it to just talk to one another but lately have heard them occasionally in conversations to the ship on it at the same time as 156.850 .
So far the only one from all those other than common frequencies.

Just checked out the addition in the database. Thanks!!
Since it is under SD & G, first note it should be Iroquois, not Iroquois Falls :)
SD and G goes east past Cornwall so Seaway Eisenhower and Seaway Iroquois can be heard from SD and G and you can likely pick up Eisenhower lock and Snell Lock from there as in Iroquois depending on weather I can hear them. Should they be added also?
Snell Lock would be the same as Iroquois Lock 156.850
The locks only handle the traffic right at and in the lock. The Seaway Iroquois and Seaway Eisenhower handles the traffic away form the locks.
Apologies if I am making this confusing.

I pick up Snell, Eisenhower & I think I get Iroquois as well from here. I don't fully remember for Iroquois..

@Megsixo , You can do a search for this Facebook group, St. Lawrence Seaway Ship Watchers.
You can tell Snell lock, Eisenhower lock and Seaway Eisenhower as it sounds like they are in a tin can. French or French accent would be Seaway Iroquois clearer communications usually.

Eisenhower Lock is in Massena, New York in St. Lawrence County so I can't put it in the Canadian database. If it is submitted on the US side, I could link it here in SD&G counties.

Thank you very much, now how do I get by the moderation and approval? Is that because I am newer on the site?

Because you had not posted for three years, your account went back to moderation approval. Anyone who has not posted in over one year will have the same hurdle.

It looks like that you have posted enough within the last week or so that this should no longer be an issue.

I hear continuous marine weather broadcasts on 161.65 and 162.0.
I also hear marine bulletins on 157.1, common when the weather is bad.

161.750 & 161.775 are both broadcast off of the top of the Seaway building here in Cornwall. If I turn the gain up on my sdr, I get overload. I get the same thing when I drive by the building in my car. I get front end overload on my Yaesu 7800.
