Would any know the departure times of the airshow planes, this way we can monitor the freq they will use, and keep record of it.

don't know about departure times, but a lot of them left after their perfomance so there can't be many left.
I will have more to post tomorrow.

From Strathroy I heard the Snow Birds on 272.100000 and the final pass a dedication to all the men and women, did the line across, a lot of radio action when they are performing even if you can't go and see it.
Air boss 122.700000 was clear some times, at flight heading back to Birmingham, at 5.14pm Sunday, said see ya all next year. 119.400000 london tower, that's all I would monitor if you are listening from Strathroy I would lock out all other air frequencies. Note that the scanner was hooked up to the vhf/uhf tower with preamp, mini state antenna.
Just for example on other air frequencies if you don't lock them out, with in 24 hrs scanner hit count
133.87500 708 hits
125.87500 604 hits
132.45000 454 hits
those and more are good air frequencies to listen to during severe storms or turbulance, which they had a lot of Sat June 20,09 air show.

I went to the show earlier today. It was the most [enter many cuss words] disorganized event I had ever almost attended. All traffic entering the show was through only one entrance. All vehicles arriving from the east were routed south just east of the airport. Next was west along the southern boundary of the airport. Next was north along the west side of the airport back to the road we were originally on. From here it was to be east than right into the airport but "oh no" the road was closed due to the lot being full. Over a 1 1/2 hrs. in the line up to be turned away. But even then they still hadn't notified the radio channel they advertised with which was still telling people to come out. They could of opened up at least a couple of more entrances off the side roads which would of greatly eased up the traffic congestion and been far more safe. Would of sped up the process greatly but the big problem is the event is too big for St. Thomas airport to handle.

The following freq. are from the St Thomas Ont Canada airshow that ran from the 19, 20, and 21 June 09.

116.0 used extensively by the Canadian Snow Birds. when regrouping with the main body of planes, they used this frequency.

272.1 used by the Snow Birds on the way to the airshow and used during their practice session.

242.6 used by Snow Birds when performing.

122.250 used by all aircraft at the show, very busy.

122.7 St Thomas main airport freq.

Other freq used by can identify who used them other than the planes must have been at the air show.

266.3

236.6

323.3 used by Toronto Maple ( not familiar with the name but it involved about three F18's.

333.3 also used by T.M. this is also a freq, that I have listened to over the last year, it seems to be quite active.

225.7 was used to hand off the Snow Birds from 135.62 ( Toronto Center )

294.5 Hawk11 was handed off to this freq. by another Toronto Center Freq. 135.3

I also think they could have done better with parking, we came in from the west side from St Thomas, and we didn't see one sign untill a km from the airport, and it only said "Airshow Today proceed with Caution". There were no directions at all of how to get to the parking area. Once we finally got to the line, there were cars parked on the side of the road and no one directing you. The parking people weren't ready so we had to wait a half hour to get on the airport to park. The OPP auxilliary there were useless, ignored any questions we had and just stood there with a dumb look on their faces.
They need better signage, more parking, and volunteers who want to be there, there were so many ignorant and rude, I was starting to wonder if they were from the local REACT group.

I got there Sat late afternoon, OPP directing traffic, I went out to the east until the few remaining cars and OPP were gone, the entrance even when there is no air show is a bad spot and one side entrance was not there, unlike the year before, seen the snow birds and the Harvard or Yale trainer.Had no scanner with me.

Heard the Snowbirds last night around 18:40 fly into St. Thomas. They were on 272.100, then the boss told one team member to go to 122.700 Unicom and let them know the team has a 5 min ETA. Also heard some traffic on 135.300.

Here's the thing , I live in Windsor and was hearing all this on this BC-780 thats in my van.

Walking around downtown working and my radio is lighting up on 272.100. The only problem is its short talk so I can't make out what they are saying.

Did anyone go to the airshow that had a radio with them? I was at work on Sunday within rock throwing distance from the airport. I had my Sportcat 200 with me so I could at least hear the Snowbirds on 116. Mhz, but I didn't hear anything. Actually all of the frequencies were dead, unlike the 2009 show, the air frequencies were very active.

All I had was the old Uniden BC760XLT in our command trailer, I tried all the freqs listed on here from the 09 show and the only thing I could get a hit on was 272.100, which was short talk as RCR619 stated (sounded like the snowbirds to me, and the timing would have been about right). Now that being said, I wasn't sitting with the radio the whole day. We were way too busy for that!

Keep your radio's on this morning, so far I have heard 333.3, 284.625, and 371.950. When the SB left on the Monday after the airshow of 2009, they talked a lot on 116.0 272.1 and 333.3.

Heads up southwestern Ontario, Snowbirds are due in Sarnia on June 29, I'm sure we will hear something within the next day or so as they fly from St.Thomas to Chris Hadfield Airport. Keep an ear on the above mentioned frequencies.

I believe I just heard the S/B on 333.3Mhz and 272.1, saying they were going to let London know their intentions.
