Is there a website or any information source that tells step by step how to program my Pro-96 scanner for Starcom 21 scanning? I had heard my scanner would not work with that and then read on another site it will. It is just really confusing, and there should be an instruction "for dummies" section somewhere. Thanks!

The Pro96 works just fine on any of the 800 MHz. sites for StarCom21. The various 700 MHz. sites will be able to be heard, but not tracked. You need to perform a quick software mod to open 700 MHz. coverage on the Pro96 in order to do so.

To properly track 700 MHz sites you need a PSR-500, PSR600, BCD396 or BCD996 scanner.

The 96 will trunk track any of Starcom's 800 Mhz towers...use the controls only (red and blue freqs in the database)

Below my signature is a link to a programming short cut (step by step) for the 96.
