As
jt has noted, you're better off with quick keys, not "startup". You can only have one 'startup key' active at a time. There is no way to quickly turn all of them back on simply. If you wanted more than one active, you'd have to manually go into the scanner's menu & edit the group to turn off the 'lockout'. I see you have made the
change to quick keys.
Where "startup" can be useful is when programming the scanner for an extended trip. The scanner has a large channel capacity. But that's in a single file. You can't load more than one file at a time, unlike the database scanners, such as the x36HP & SDS series where you can use multiple files (Favorites lists) and choose more than one to be in use.
For an extended trip, you could program each segment of your trip (up to 10 segments) with a different start-up key. At the start of your day, you'd boot up the scanner using the key for that segment, which would then be the only portion being scanned. The next day, or portion of the trip, reboot the scanner with the key for that section. The one from the previous day would be turned off, and all the others, except for the chosen key, would also remain off. If you are programming a system that you want
always to be scanned, just don't include a startup key. You're in Texas, as I am. For a trip that I often take, I programmed one of my 396XTs (the predecessor to your 325P2) with the
Texas DPS statewide channel plan without a startup, so that it was always available. For a couple of systems that were audible in overlapping sections of my trip, I programmed those systems twice, each with the startup key used by the complete section of the trip. Now, though, using my SDS100 & 436HP, I just create specific Favorites list for each portion.
