In the last few weeks the amount of static I'm getting on the TPS talkgroups has gone way up. On top of pretty much every broadcast there is a lot of static accompanying it, not at the beginning or end of transmissions but during the transmission. I'm noticing it day and night, off of more than one tower (1st Canadian and Yonge/401...haven't tried the other two.) Has anyone else noticed this?

I haven't changed anything in the setup of my 396XT or 346XT and I am using the same antennas magnet mounted to the trunk of my car. I'm perplexed.

your listening from richmond hill to the south tower, its only makes sense your getting some static on that but the north tower might be odd

that being said i have noticed some more static, not only from my side but from the users of the system complaining about not being able to hear each other, or dispatch not being able to read them.

I rarely listen to TPS from R/Hill. Usually I'm listening while driving the length of the DVP. Interestingly, I was just listening to the simplex channels that carry the simulcast from the trunked system and there was no static. (And I'm currently right downtown, almost on the waterfront.)

Simplex channels that simulcast the trunked system?

I don't believe such animals exist.

I find its fine until i start driving and then I get the static.. this is strange considering its an 800 Mhz system. I also noticed that the signal is fluxuating a lot more recently on both the east and north towers.
