Static! Please help!

I recently programmed Montville police into my scanner. One problem. I had to lock it out because I hear like sudden and long-lasting static noises on their. It is so annoying! What should I do? Is it me? Is it the actual frequency?? Any help is appreciated.

What kind of scanner do you have, I believe Montville is digital on their dispatch channel.

matt.just a quick guess.it sound's like you may be the victim of sudden encryption syndrome or s.e.s. what's the frequency and pl ?. i'm in monmouth county but can pick up part's of morris.

Montville is not encrypted but the are P25 conventional.
Matt has an analog scanner.

Time to save your money and buy a digital Trunktracker.
