As for those SPUR tankers they added another 3 Hour AR80NE window for
Tuesday 1600z-1900z (11am) so maybe SPUR tankers for that mission..
Still have AR80NE 3 Hour Res for tonight starting 7:30PM local so maybe two groups?
See what turns up..
1830z couple more KC-135's from Mildenhall UK headed down range Middle East RCH 008,RCH 009.

Probably still in active planning mode for whatever they intend to do.

RCH 258 C-5M 87-0035 was off Dover headed Northeast but turned around and headed back.
Sure having hard times getting two C-5M's to Ramstein last 2 days :)

That 259.100 falls in the old UHF Satellite band so maybe pirate radio.
Usually radio pirates come out of Brazil.

Usually they come out of South America.

Heard him call First Ops but no codes passed (349.4). Just told approach that they have an electrical issue.

Yeah no IFE declared on appch freq 132.425.. Maybe mission changed.
Dover apch asks him what incident caused you to return? Aircraft reply not heard.
Then asks if any assistance needed on ground, reply sounded like negative.
Sounds like mechanical hiccup somewhere..

So far seems like PACK 81,82 KC-46's out of Pease are headed to AR-80 tonight.. No biggie there.
Both at Reserved flight levels between FL200-220.

Yeah Ron a recent 10 year voice Ham op myself but CW blows me away.. Too old to learn that :)
Got a local Club member recently retired from APG and he does Ham CW like nothing else.
Just fun to watch him operate on Field Day etc. USAF still likes HF though! They did theory tests where even
after nuclear bombs where HF bands would return to normal quickly .. Thats why they keep it going.

Mark,

I know what you mean. I was a voice intercept operator in Osan, South Korea, in the USAF Security Service in the early '60s. I never could get the hang of copying CW but I watched in amazement as the CW ops would bang away on their typewriters (using all capital letters) we called " a mill". Trey would get into some sort of rhythm and just type away for pages. We used 6-ply paper with carbon paper inserts which wasn't the easy handling paper.
That video brought back alot of good memories. :giggle: (y)

Here are a couple of Pirate comms on the satcom the past few days:
255.550 - 257.500 - 265.350; NFM or FM. If you can tune thru the 240 - 270 MHz downlink satcom band in the USB mode; you can hear the data signals being tx easier than in the FM/NFM mode; 25KHz steps. I'll scan through the band later and list what freqs I hear data on in the USB mode.
