This morning I see our local MAW-4 #166767 C560 tracking from Iceland stop down into Europe.
First time seeing this plane ever leave the States... Must be important or getting new assignment?

0816 COSMIC 1 flight of 2 climbing up ZDC 363.000>ZNY 335.600 no joy so go ZNY 270.300 and A/A 260.900..
"Going to the Duke MOA".
0836 COSMIC up on ZNY low? 270.250 going back down to 6k. Talking about bumpy rides this morning.. It is windy out.

Mark,

Odd choice for an A-A freq. But I guess it's probably already in their presets---so why not.

Anyone catching anything on this? I have this aircraft listed as a P8 [AE6847]. It' been tracking up and down Jersey coast.

MD ANG A10s are Axeman flt working ZNY Flint (270.3) requesting direct to ?Sweetwater? for the Duke MOA. Axeman flt working ZNY Brni (270.25). Looks like Maine 85 (KC-135R # 63-8873 AE07C4 ME ANG Bangor) is in the Duke MOA area. Maybe to refuel the A-10s for the trip home.

Could have sworn there was a Sweetwater VOR somewhere in PA - but I guess my memory is going.

SPUR 71-73 just took off from Pease heading Northeast at the moment. Currently working ZBW on 128.2 and using 293.7 for A-A they're heading direct CYYY (Mont-Joli Quebec, CA) which is putting them on coarse for AR-62 which will be active soon. Looks like we won't be hearing this refueling. :-(

He flew down on 82-8000 which went back to Andrews on 12/24. 92-9000 has been in the shop since the end of November.

1640/2140z I see the 3 SPUR Tankers staggering their way back to Pease.. Busy day.
Not sure why the Minot Buffs take such a northerly route for A/R before diving Southeast to Gibraltar.
You would think shortcut across Northeast US would be faster. No tankers seen near Med yet if they really
are headed that way.
