I thought it was unusual to state "for air to air"

Technically the fighters have to deal with both the local altimeter and the standard altimeter. Local altimeter if they are going after someone at lower altitude but if they are simply doing CAP and refueling at 24-26K it is easier for both the tanker and the fighters to maintain standard altimeter. Then they only need to change (if necessary) for TOIs. Not very mountainous in that part of the area (covered by the CAP) so they may just use 2992 continuously.

OT -
Is TOI track of interest or target of interest? I've been told both.

track of interest — In counterdrug operations, contacts that meet the initial identification
criteria applicable in the area where the contacts are detected. Also called TOI. See
also suspect. (JP 3-07.4) and TOI as below

TOC tactical operations center; transnational organized crime
TOD tactical ocean data
TOI track of interest
TOPINT technical operational intelligence

from a small document on the internet.... https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...ctionary.pdf&usg=AOvVaw101JCbmU5uJ0Yww8Ng9lqg

As directed in Joint Publication (JP) 1, Doctrine for the Armed Forces of the United
States, the DOD Dictionary of Military and Associated Terms [Short title: DOD
Dictionary] sets forth standard US military and associated terminology to encompass the
joint activity of the Armed Forces of the United States. These military and associated
terms, together with their definitions, constitute approved Department of Defense (DOD)
terminology for general use by all DOD components.

N2SP circling, three Ospreys landing at DE ANG, must be close to time to head back to DC, thinking it will be later this afternoon (like 3pm or so) but I could be wrong.

Nighthawk 1 flight was a flight of 2 H3 helicopters and Nighthawk 3 was a flight of 3 V22 aircraft. The flight from KILG to KPHL was a familiarization flight for the upcoming visit. Nighthawk 1 flight confirmed they were circling the area for familiarization.

Via Gary in IL, the F-35s diverted to Scott due to a tanker issue of some sort.

Thanks for that. I got them working ZOB just after the F-35s split off from BLUE 81. The F-35s were off to AR with BLUE 82 final destination was to be Luke, but then 82 got diverted back east to take over the CAP. 81 was heading back to McGuire then got diverted to presumably pick up the F-35s again. Not sure what happened after that ? 13:35 EDT and 81 is still westbound. Update - 81 also going to Scott.
